The Pair of Weerdinge

{{main|Weerdinge Men}}

On 29 June 1904, a pair of bog bodies were discovered by Hilbrand Gringhuis. Initially, it was thought that it was a man and a woman, but it has been established that they are two unrelated men. They have been dated 92 BC to 70 AD. Both have probably been killed.{{cite web|url=https://www.uitgeverijdrenthe.nl/het-paar-van-weerdinge |title=Het paar van Weerdinge |website=Uitgeverij Drenthe |access-date=11 March 2022 |language=nl}} Both bodies are on display at the Drents Museum.{{cite web|url=https://drentsmuseum.nl/nl/nieuws/onderzoek-naar-paar-van-weerdinge |title=Onderzoek naar paar van Weerdinge |website=Drents Museum |access-date=11 March 2022 |language=nl}}
