All users, regardless of disability, should be able to read, navigate, and contribute to Wikipedia easily. Therefore, when editing articles:

- File:Green check.png Provide alt text and a caption for most images.
- File:Green check.png Provide a text description of any charts or diagrams.
- File:Green check.png Nest section headings sequentially.
- File:Green check.png Create correctly structured tables.
- File:Green check.png Wrap non-English words or phrases in {{tl|lang}} or {{tl|transliteration}}.
- File:Green check.png Ask any accessibility-related questions at WikiProject Accessibility's talk page.

- File:Red x.svg Don't impede the ability to distinguish links from regular text.
- File:Red x.svg Don't use scrolling lists or collapsible sections to conceal content. (See exceptions in the Manual of Style).
- File:Red x.svg Don't use color as the only means of conveying information.
- File:Red x.svg Don't use tables for layout—use blocks instead.
- File:Red x.svg Don't leave blank lines between list items.
- File:Red x.svg Don't use Unicode characters as icons or images.
- File:Red x.svg Don't sandwich text between two images, and don't use fixed image sizes unless absolutely necessary.
