Five Wounds Portuguese National Church

{{#switch:|accept={{afc a}}|mm={{afc mm}}|#default={{afc r}}}}

The Five Wounds Portuguese National Church is the heart and soul of the Portuguese Community in Santa Clara Valley. The Five Wounds Parish was dedicated by Father Henrique Ribeiro on November 8, 1914. The hard work and dedication of many Portuguese families made this beautiful edifice possible. The story of the construction of Five Wounds is a testament to the spirit of the Portuguese people. After the local Panama-Pacific Exposition closed in San Francisco at the end of 1915, a group of community leaders asked to use the timbers and wood from the Portuguese Pavilion to help build the Five Wounds Church. With wagons and fanfare they brought back from San Francisco down the El Camino Real the building materials for Five Wounds Church. They were met and celebrated in the many Portuguese communities along the way. The cornerstone of the church was laid October 1, 1916, and the completed building was consecrated on July 13, 1919. From that wonderful beginning grew the strong support for the Five Wounds Portuguese National Church.

The building is of Manueline style and has been a source of identity and pride for the over eight hundred thousand Portuguese-speaking people who live in California. Five Wounds has been declared by the City of San Jose a historical landmark of general interest to the entire community.

Since the founding of Five Wounds Church, many fine clergymen have served the Portuguese community. Five Wounds Church offers a variety of charitable, religious, and socio-cultural services as well as operating the Five Wounds School. The church is open daily from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. and all day Saturdays and Sundays. All are welcome.

Mark Rollestone

{{#switch:|accept={{afc a}}|mm={{afc mm}}|#default={{afc r}}}}

Mark Rollestone, Cultural theorist was born in the late 18th Century, no precise date has been provided although historains agree that the correct year is 1798. Mark Rollestone, was born into a family of peasants however, his extraordinary knowledge and wit resulted in his rise through the lower classes, up to the noteable aristocracy. Mark was born in Ireland in the county of Mayo and due to serious ilness was forced to leave his beloved home and move to Australia. It was here in the new fomred colony of Sydney that Mark or (Rollo) as was to become known, first started writing his thesis on Culture, namely 'what is cool'.

Mark took it upon himself to examine every inch of the new found land, to seek out poor and old traditions in the hope of advance culture, by making it 'more cool', of course in the 18th century the wrods 'cool' were not used, it has been well noted that Mark would exclaim 'what be this action, it is hitherto foolish and backward'(Mark Rolleston The Culture of Sydney 1820).

Mark Rollestone was considered the true gentlemn and was honoured by being presented with the Sydney Lock, a notable prize for the most reverred citizens. he was also very popular with the ladies, however this did cause great angst, as he was involved in a serious love traingle, which was discussed by Mark in his journal (Mark's Mischeif 1822).

Mark's legacy is still alive today, indeed many historians and academics attribute Mark's work as the foundation of the modern concepts of cool, indeed the marketing community continue to marvel at his work as they constantly quote him 'To be the notable one, one must be the one with the mon (short for money)-- Indeed money is a popular image in the modern world.

Mark died at the age of 74, in his small home on the shores of Sydney after a late night binge, although he has left the world, his work is still with us.

{{#switch:|accept={{afc a}}|mm={{afc mm}}|#default={{afc r}}}}

"Why Does Grandma Have a Wibble? (Winepress Publishing)

This 176-page gift book celebrates the love, humor and mysteries of a grandmother. More than 300 children, ages 4-12, from across the country have contributed quotes and drawings to the book, but the majority of them are from the Monroe School District in Monroe, WI. From "Do you change your socks every day?" to "I love it when she holds my hand", this captures hundreds of personal youthful reflections.

Author Heidi Krumenauer is a native of Monroe, WI, and still resides in Southern Wisconsin. Krumenauer has contributed to seven books since 2006 and plans to compile the companion "grandpa" book in 2008. www.heidikrumenauer.com

R.F.A.SWIN. R.F.A.KINBRACE R.F.A.SUCCOUR

{{#switch:|accept={{afc a}}|mm={{afc mm}}|#default={{afc r}}}}

The three vessels were admiralty boom defence vessels during world war 2. Employment was provided for them post war in such pursuits as clearing Dover Harbour of block ships. Three block ships were used to seal the western entrance of the harbour from attack.Two of the blockships were "Black Prince" "Minnie de Larrinaga" and one more.The ships were filled with shingle alternated with a layer of concrete. Divers would use "air lifts" to remove debris,then underwater cutting to create smaller chunks which could be lifted to the surface and removed away in order to clear the entrance. Due to weather conditions the work took several years to complete and would eventually mean that both Dover Harbour entrancec could be navigated.

R.F.A.Swin was also used at Boom Defence Depot, Greenock for salvage duties. Amongst vessels which the writer personally assisted were "Norna" a fishery protection vessel; the "Karrina" a Finnish cargo vessel and R.F.A."Green Ranger" aground off Hartland Point Devon- where she still remains.

MERKHET.... THE INSTURMENT OF KNOWING....

ACIENT CLOCK OR TIME PIECE

The merkhet, the oldest known astronomical tool, was an Egyptian development of around 600 BCE. A pair of merkhets was used to establish a north-south line (or meridian) by aligning them with the Pole Star. They could then be used to mark off nighttime hours by determining when certain other stars crossed the meridian. A SITING TOOL MADE FROM THE CENTRAL RIB OF A PALM LEAF..... THIS WAS SIMULAR IN CONSTRUCTION TO THE ASTROLOBE.

THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE PYRAMIDS WERE ALIGNED TO THE MERIDIAN USING THESE TOOLS

Roy Hart Theatre

{{#switch:{{{1}}}|accept={{afc a}}|mm={{afc mm}}|#default={{afc r}}}}

The Roy Hart Theatre is an organization that used to function as a theatre performance company, concerning itself primarily with the exploration of the human voice. It stopped performing in the early 1990s, and exists today as an international voice training organization. The group's teachers work with actors, singers, and performance artists all over the world, though much of the training takes place at the company's Center Artistique Interational in the South of France. The Centre is located at Chateau de Malerargues in the Cevennes Mountains, about 40 km west of Nimes, near Provence.

The Roy Hart Theatre was founded by the South African born actor Roy Hart in the late 1950s. Hart had come to London in the 1940s to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). After graduation, he met Alfred Wolfsohn, an Austrian ex-patriot and World War I veteran, who had dedicated his life to exploring the hidden potential of the human voice. Hart became Wolfsohn's prize pupil, developing an eight-octave vocal range under Wolfsohn's tutelage. Soon, Hart began taking on his own students, and eventually formed The Roy Hart Theatre. In 1974, the company picked up and moved from London to the South of France, where they had purchased an ancient ruin of a chateau in the Cevennes Mountains. Living communally, they worked together to create voice theatre, and at the same time they worked to rebuild the chateau and its surrounding buildings and grounds. A year later, in 1975, Roy Hart died in a car crash in Nice, France. His wife Dorothy Hart and another member of the company were also killed. The surviving members of the group, numbering over 40, continued to rebuild the chateau, and returned to performing their voice theatre pieces a year or so later. For nearly two decades, they split their time between touring around the world and teaching at the Chateau de Malerargues. The members of the theatre slowly started developing their own artistic interests, and in 1992 they performed their last official theatre piece, an adaptation of Moby Dick. Today, the company survives as a training center. Several members still live and work at the Chateau de Malerargues, and many more live and travel internationally, teaching voice all over the world.

= Early career =

Making his debut in the American Wrestling Association during the early 1980s, he lost to Ken Patera in one of his earliest appearances in the promotion on November 29 and later lost to Hulk Hogan in a handicap match with Chris Curtis in December 6 and with Tom Stone in a rematch on December 12, 1981. During the match, he was attacked by Larry "The Ax" Henning and his son Curt Henning and was pinned by Hall after hitting Milliman with a chair for the victory.

=== World Wrestling Federation ===

After a brief stint in World Wrestling Federation during mid 1987, appearing on WWF Superstars facing Adrian Adonis in Adonis's last televised appearance following Wrestlemania III on April 23, 1987. {{cite web |url=http://www.tomzenk.net/match_results_wwf.html |title=Tom Zenk in the WWF |accessdate= |author= |authorlink= |coauthors= |date= |year= |month= |format= |work= |publisher=TomZenk.net |pages= |language= |archiveurl= |archivedate= |quote= |no-tracking=yes}} He later took part in a handicap match with Arthur Washington against One Man Gang on August 29 {{cite web |url=http://www.1wrestling.com/news/newsline.asp?news=23779 |title=Wrestling Observer newsline: 64 years ago... |accessdate= |author=Ryder, Bob |authorlink= |coauthors= |date= |year=2005-08-25 |month= |format= |work= |publisher=1wrestling.com |pages= |language= |archiveurl= |archivedate= |quote= |no-tracking=yes}} and in a 6-man tag team with against One Man Gang, Butch Reed and Nikolai Volkoff with Safi Avi and Jerry Allen on October 10, Milliman returned to the AWA.

In 1989, Milliman returned to the WWF loosing to Tito Santana in Duluth, Minnesota on May 17 {{cite web |url=http://www.titosantana.net/Santana_Matches.html |title=Match History of Tito Santana |accessdate= |author=Frederick, David |authorlink= |coauthors= | date=February 2007 |format= |work= |publisher=TitoSantana.net |pages= |language= |archiveurl= |archivedate= |quote= |no-tracking=yes}} before teaming with Boris Zhukov loosing to the Hart Foundation on July 9 and, with Tom Stone, on August 27. {{cite web |url=http://www.1wrestling.com/news/newsline.asp?news=23768 |title=Wrestling Observer newsline: 64 years ago... |accessdate= |author=Bryan, Jim |authorlink= |coauthors= |date= |year=2005-08-27 |month= |format= |work= |publisher=1wrestling.com |pages= |language= |archiveurl= |archivedate= |quote= |no-tracking=yes}} In his last appearance with the WWF, he and Zhukov lost a tag team match to Demolition on WWF Superstars on September 9, 1989.

=== Return to the AWA ===

Milliman returned to the AWA in late 1989 and defeated Todd Becker at SuperClash IV on April 8, 1990. {{cite web |url=http://www.prowrestlinghistory.com/supercards/usa/misc/awa/superclash.html#sc4 |title=AWA SuperClash: SuperClash IV |accessdate= |author= |authorlink= |coauthors= | date= 2003 |format= |work= |publisher=ProWrestlingHistory.com |pages= |language= |archiveurl= |archivedate= |quote= |no-tracking=yes}}

His most famous match was one with Col. DeBeers, known as the "Great American Turkey Hunt". The match was part of the AWA Team Challenge Series, where the wrestler who got a stuffed, uncooked turkey off of the top of a pole first would win. In what was considered at the time a major upset, Milliman took the turkey from DeBeers when the referee's back was turned and was declared the winner. {{cite web |url=http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/columns/54052 |title=The Top Ten 5.08.07: Smackdown Matches |accessdate= |author=Williams, Julian |authorlink= |coauthors= |date=2007-05-08 |year= |month= |format= |work= |publisher=411wrestling.com |pages= |language= |archiveurl= |archivedate= |quote= |no-tracking=yes}}

The match took place in a TV studio without an audience (the announcers claimed it was in an effort to stop wrestlers from interfering, but it was actually due to poor ticket sales).

Milliman also participated in the final match in the TSC. That match was a royal rumble-style battle royal featuring Brad Rheingans, Col. DeBeers, The Trooper, The Destruction Crew (Mike Enos & Wayne Bloom), the Texas Hangmen and others. Milliman again came away

with the win by eliminating DeBeers at the end, winning the Series and supposed $1,000,000 check for his team Larry's Legends. {{cite web |url=http://www.kayfabememories.com/Regions/awa/awa7-2.htm |title=Regional Territories: American Wrestling Association #7, Page 2 |accessdate= |author=Keith, Scott |authorlink= |coauthors= | date= 2004 |format= |work= |publisher=KafabeMemories.com |pages= |language= |archiveurl= |archivedate= |quote= |no-tracking=yes}}

=== Later career ===

Following the close of the AWA in December 1990, Milliman remained inactive for much of the 1990s however, in 2001, he would make an appearance wrestling against Rocky Stone in a charity event to raise money for the Waukeesha's Valley of the Kings animal sanctuary on March 24. {{cite web |url=http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4196/is_20010326/ai_n10669630&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=110&gl=us |title=Cause of the wild: Wrestlers perform to benefit sanctuary |accessdate= |author=Walker, Laurel |authorlink= |coauthors= |date=2001-03-26 |year= |month= |format= |work= |publisher=Milwaukee Journal Sentinel |pages= |language= |archiveurl=http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:g4WYLN6qbIIJ:findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4196/is_20010326/ai_n10669630&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=110&gl=us |archivedate=2007-06-05 |quote= |no-tracking=yes}} He and Tom Stone would later reunite to defeat Derek St. Holmes & Brad Hunter at a NAWF Pro Wrestling event in Jefferson, Wisconsin on December 14, 2001. He would also face Chris Jericho in the first televised broadcast of Northern Premiere Wrestling, a Minnesota-based independent promotion affiliated with the National Wrestling Alliance, on February 2, 2002. {{cite web |url=http://midamwrestling.tripod.com/midamericanprowrestling/id25.html |title=Northern Premiere Wrestling: February 9, 2002 |accessdate= |author= |authorlink= |coauthors= | date= 2002 |format= |work= |publisher=midamwrestling.tripod.com |pages= |language= |archiveurl= |archivedate= |quote= |no-tracking=yes}}

20px Declined. We cannot accept unsourced suggestions or sources that are not reliable per the verifiability policy. Please provide reputable, third-party sources with your suggestions. Third party sources are needed both to establish the verifiability of the submission as well as its notability. The sources given didn't really indicate notability. One's an article about how they invented a "pager" for your remote control (a non-trivial reference), one's an article about how they're entrepreneurs who've started a website called National Online Makeup Artists, (a non-trivial reference), and one's a story about an exercise program and they used the twins to test how well the program works (a trivial reference—the article's not about them; it does, however, establish that they're plus-size models living in New York City). So, two solid article but just getting press doesn't impart notability. There's a claim they were in The Matrix Reloaded and that they wrote an "award winning TV script" but I can't find them on IMDb. Can you give more specifics about their other TV appearences that you've put in the article (were they modelling on those shows, being interviewed, etc?) Perhaps if their "pager" or website became successful, or if their modelling careers took off. Otherwise I just don't see it. Precious Roy 00:29, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
