Bexhill Rail Action Group (BRAG) was formed in 2005 in response to a proposal by the Strategic Rail Authority (SRA) to discontinue through trains between Hastings and London Victoria which run hourly via Eastbourne and Haywards Heath. These proposals would have left Bexhill the largest town on the south coast without a through rail service to London.

BRAG is a non-party political group and joined forces with the local MP Gregory Barker, Rother District Council, employers and residents to fight the proposals. Following intensive lobbying and a letter-writing campaign orchestrated by BRAG, the Department for Transport abandoned the proposal in May 2006.

Having contributed to this successful outcome, BRAG has further ambitions to improve rail services in the Bexhill area. These include:

- Faster services to London, which could be achieved by ending the current arrangement of dividing and attaching trains at Haywards Heath, and by introducing a limited-stop service which could reach London in approximately 100 minutes. In the future, re-instatement of the Willingdon Chord (the direct line from Pevensey & Westham to Polegate, East Sussex would enable the journey time from Bexhill to Lewes, Brighton, Gatwick, Croydon and London to be reduced by a further 20 minutes.

- More frequent train services on the East Coastway.

- More seats on existing services, including lengthening the diesel units used on the Brighton-Ashford service from the current two to four carriages

- Improvements to local stations

- New stations at Stone Cross, Glyne Gap and St Leonards West Marina, to respond to recent housing and commercial developments, and to reduce congestion on the local road network

- Upgrading of the whole route between Brighton and Ashford International including electrification of the section of line between Ore and Ashford and double-tracking of thes route. In the longer term, BRAG would like to see the extension of (Javelin) high speed services to Hastings and Bexhill from London via High Speed 1 and the Marshlink.

- BRAG also wishes to see the restoration of through Eurostar services between Ashford International and Belgium, which were abandoned in November 2007 when a new parkway station was opened at Ebbsfleet. BRAG maintains that this station is difficult to access by public transport, unlike Ashford where five railway lines converge.

- Better coordination of connecting services between the Coastway and Hastings-Tonbridge line at St Leonards Warrior Square.

- BRAG also supports the re-opening of the Lewes to Uckfield line as a future diversionary route from the Brighton mainline, and a link from the coast to the rural and northern part of Wealden district in the county of East Sussex.

This is NOT a spam topic - this is a legit report on a Social Networking site, just like Hoverspot, Myspace, etc, but has alot more to offer than the vast majority social sites. This site is called "Yuwie". It pays its users to upload pictures, blogs, and view others profiles.

Yuwie is FREE! So you're not going to lose money. It's just like myspace and 300 million people have joined myspace, so why not join yuwie? Myspace does not pay its members; Yuwie does! Yuwie is growing at a faster rate than myspace ever did! The daily percentage of increase in yuwie's members is amazing! In its first 4 months it had over 300,000 users! Does that sound like a scam site? Once again - even if yuwie didn’t pay it still wouldn’t be any different from myspace.

Numerous people on Yuwie have already been paid and posted proof of payment!

Also, there is NOT ONE SINGLE reason why yuwie would not pay! Why wouldn't it? You see the ads around so you know the site has revenue - if it has revenue and doesn't pay that's stupid, and it's going to hurt its own growth because people will drop out and no one will join Yuwie! Think about it.

Eric Lax is an American biographer and author of On Being Funny: Woody Allen and Comedy

as well as several other books and articles.

He graduated from Hobart College in 1966 with a major in English.

Upon graduating he joined the Peace Corps serving in Chuuk and the Caroline Islands in

the western Pacific Ocean. After completing his two year placement, he worked in

Washington D.C., with the Peace Corps organization in a capacity that allowed him travel to

He left the Peace Corps in 1970 to pursue writing full time.

UCLA Medical Center, which was headed at the time by his college classmate Dr. Robert Peter Gale.

Notable Books of the Year and received an award from the

Steve Seskin is an American songwriter whose compositions have been recorded by Alabama, Kenny Chesney, Peter Frampton, Waylon Jennings, Brian McComas, Neal McCoy, Tim McGraw, John Michael Montgomery, Colin Raye, Tebey and Mark Wills. The debut single from McGraw's Set This Circus Down, “Grown Men Don’t Cry”, was nominated for a 2002 Grammy award. Seskin also is known for performing at schools in support of a tolerance program named after a song he wrote performed by Peter, Paul and Mary, the Operation Respect/Don’t Laugh at Me project.

Seskin began his songwriting career when he moved to San Francisco in 1972. Crystal Gayle seggested that Seskin go to Nashville. During his first visit there in 1985, Seskin began with only one appointment with an ASCAP executive who arranged Seskin appointments with several publishers. Himself a performer, Seskin has recorded 17 CDs for his own label. In performance he occasionally repeats a line first said by Michael Laskow introducing Seskin at TAXI's convention: "He is a man who has really truly proved that you can grow up in New York, live in San Francisco, and still become a major player in Nashville."

Seskin splits his time between touring, Nashville and Northern California.
