- Comment. I am just about to go to bed, but my preliminary impression is that the subject likely meets WP:PROF. The citability data in GoogleScholar is fairly impressive, and the article lists a bunch of academic awards. One would have to look deeper into what those awards are, but at least some of them appear to be fairly prestigious. There is the 2009 OMCOS Prize[http://www.chem.utoronto.ca/symposium/omcos12/news.html] and the 2009 Nagoya Medal[http://www.banyu-zaidan.or.jp/symp/nagoya/e-index.html] that do check out by independent sources. The OMCOS Prize appears to be an international award and the link above contains a detailed bioggraphical sketch of Nozaki. I have not looked at the other awards yet, but it does look to me that the subject is academically notable. Nsk92 (talk) 03:45, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well, a full professorship at Todai is nothing to sneeze at, especially for a woman, and immediately suggests that a second look should be taken. And poking about the 'nets, it looks like at least the Mukaiyama Award is a pretty big deal, of the sort that WP:PROF C2 asks for. (The Saruhashi Award also looks potentially of that class, but others will have to evaluate that.) On the basis of that, which is pretty easy to verify from award lists, I'd say this is a keeper. —Quasirandom (talk) 03:47, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
