Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pumpkin riots of 1923
=[[Pumpkin riots of 1923]]=
This seems to be some sort of hoax. Google search for "Pumpkin riots" yields nothing on it and no sources can be found. Seems to never have occured. Wikidudeman (talk) 17:54, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Speedy delete silly vandalism, doesn't even rise to the level of "hoax". Andrew Lenahan - Starblind 17:57, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Smash them there pumpkins. WP:HOAX. --Evb-wiki 18:05, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Disarm (see? Cause that's an SP song...anybody?) per above. I'm pretty sure Smashing Pumpkins got their name someplace else. Bring on the Halloween vandals!--Sethacus 18:07, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Delete The only source is a "Sioux Falls Historical Society" site, and a WHOIS search shows that the domain was registered just a week ago. Presuming it's a halloween-related hoax, since an event like this (four days of rioting, five dead, hundreds arrested?) would have generated further coverage. - Carve out of Wikipedia and bake into a pie. BJAODN-worthy, perhaps, but utterly false. --Dhartung | Talk 20:46, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Delete Site is a hoax, since the [http://www.sdhistory.org/soc/Hist_Orgs/minnehahaco.htm Minnehaha County Historical Society] is the real historical agency in Sioux Falls. Why would a historical society ever cite a negative event in their city's history, especially just above their entry on tourism, or ask that you download Netscape 4 for a site started a week ago? The site looks as high-tech as the Hamster Dance. Nate 21:06, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Mentioned on The Colbert Report October 18, 2007. Hmmmm.--Evb-wiki 03:34, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed, I just watched the intro monolouge. I think we've been Colberted...Nate 05:35, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- Delete unsourced, nothing on Google. Can we say 'hoax'? Ealdgyth | Talk 03:35, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- Delete Ahhhh, Halloween, what a lovely time of year: The leaves turn gold and red, the air is crisp and cool, the sky is often a gorgeous shade of blue, the moon is inspiring, and the silly articles insert themselves in full costume! Ariel♥Gold 17:11, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- Delete, too bad it's such a great hoax. Bearian 20:53, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
