{{Newbot|RussBot|3}}

Operator: {{User|R'n'B}}

Automatic or Manually assisted: Automatic

Programming language(s): Python

Source code available: Pywikipedia rewrite branch

Function overview: Add {{tl|R to disambiguation page}} to qualifying redirects that lack it.

Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Disambiguation#Tag redirects for which "Foo (disambiguation)" redirects to "Foo", a disambiguation page

Edit period(s): One time run; may be repeated every 3 to 6 months, as necessary.

Estimated number of pages affected: 15,000 for the first run; expect far fewer for repeat runs.

Exclusion compliant (Y/N): Y

Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Y

Function details: The reports listed at Special:PrefixIndex/User:RussBot/Redirects to disambiguation pages were generated by a Toolserver query that identified every redirect page with a title in the form "Foo (disambiguation)" where the redirect target is "Foo" and where "Foo" is a disambiguation page that does not already contain {{tl|R to disambiguation page}}. The bot will run the same query again, but this time will add {{tl|R to disambiguation page}} to the end of each identified redirect page.

::MMkay here goes. {{BotTrial|50 edits}} Tim1357 (talk) 01:49, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

::: {{BotTrialComplete}} See User:RussBot/Redirects to disambiguation pages/001 for results; the first 50 pages are marked as fixed, although the complete report was generated as well. If any page cannot be fixed (for example, if the redirect page is protected for some reason), it would be marked with {{tl|cross}}, although none of these were encountered in the trial. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 14:29, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
