:* Propose deleting {{Lc|Ierissos}}

:Nominator's rationale: Category for a small town, containing only the one page about the town. DGG ( talk ) 18:28, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

  • Delete -- no need to merge as article is already in the parent. Peterkingiron (talk) 23:12, 15 October 2017 (UTC)

:* Propose renaming :Category:Knights Templar in modern culture to :Category:Cultural depictions of the Knights Templar

:Nominator's rationale: Rename, and move :Category:Self-styled orders from being a sub-category up into :Category:Knights Templar. The proposed name would fit well within :Category:Cultural depictions of people. – Fayenatic London 17:40, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

:* propose merging :Category:Church music schools in Germany to :Category:Church music in Germany, :Category:Music schools in Germany, and :Category:Christian schools in Germany

:* propose deleting :Category:Church music schools

:Nominator's rationale: upmerge per WP:SMALLCAT, only two articles across the world. Marcocapelle (talk) 16:21, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

: The first target, :Category:Church music in Germany, has been nominated for renaming in the discussion right below. Marcocapelle (talk) 16:24, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

:* Royal School of Church Music does not appear to be a school, but rather an organisation promoting church music through publications, training courses and an award scheme. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:32, 16 October 2017 (UTC)

:* Propose renaming :Category:Church music in Germany to :Category:Church music from Germany

:* Propose renaming :Category:Church music in the United Kingdom to :Category:Church music from the United Kingdom

:* Propose renaming :Category:Church music in the United States to :Category:Church music from the United States

:Nominator's rationale: rename to clarify the scope of the categories. While the music in these categories comes from a certain country, it may well be performed in other countries, so it doesn't need to stay in the original country. Marcocapelle (talk) 15:32, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

:The result of the discussion was: delete. -- Black Falcon (talk) 22:11, 21 October 2017 (UTC)

:* Propose deleting {{Lc|Organ scholars}}

:Nominator's rationale: This is a category I created over 10 years ago. However, noticing it again recently, I think I was wrong to do so. These organists are not notable for being organ scholars, they are notable for what they did after being organ scholars (in most cases, professional organists / composers etc, although ex-British Prime Minister Edward Heath gets in there, as does the actor/comedian Dudley Moore). We don't have categories for "apprentices" more generally, after all. BencherliteTalk 15:10, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

:* Support per nom. Marcocapelle (talk) 15:34, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

:* I've tagged for speedy deletion per G7. Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 19:12, 16 October 2017 (UTC)

:*:I removed the speedy tag, because I think someone needs to officially close this, and then Cydebot can go thru and depopulate the category prior to deletion. Right? If I'm confused, someone ping me, but somebody has to remove that category from 74 articles, and that sounds like work for a bot. What you really need, I think, is someone who is familiar with CFD to speedy close this discussion. --Floquenbeam (talk) 21:27, 16 October 2017 (UTC)

:::*So if deleted via speedy, no bot would remove the category from the pages that have it? Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 23:06, 16 October 2017 (UTC)

:::::That is my understanding, yes. --Floquenbeam (talk) 01:16, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

:::::* {{ping|Floquenbeam|Zeke, the Mad Horrorist}} It's both being done by a bot, but the convention is that once a category has been nominated here, it is no longer eligible for speedy deletion via a different route. On the other hand the discussion here can be speedily closed by an admin if there is a speedy criterion involved. Marcocapelle (talk) 08:30, 20 October 2017 (UTC)

::::::*Well, here's an AFD where G7 was applied to a page whose deletion discussion was in progress and it got speedy deleted successfully, but maybe it's different for CFD. I don't know. Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 04:56, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
