:Nominator's rationale: I can't see a reason why we need this category. For one thing, metro-area categories aren't generally subdivided by jurisdiction type; for example, there is no :Category:Cities in the Washington metropolitan area. Moreover, this seems to be meant exclusively for DC; the category doesn't include Montgomery County Public Schools (Maryland), or Arlington Village Historic District (Arlington, Virginia), or the Friendship Village special taxation district, or the transportation-improvement district for Virginia State Route 28, or any other kinds of districts in the region. There's no point in having a category for all districts in the metro area (or a category tree for them), and no point in having a category just for DC within the metro-area category. For those that are obviously already religious, (e.g. :Category:Hindu festivals), insert "religious" in the middle of the title (e.g. :Category:Hindu religious festivals). • Keep :Category:Observances on non-Gregorian calendars on procedural grounds, as you've not specified something to do with the individual articles within the category. Propose something to do with them, or advance an argument why we shouldn't have them in any category of this sort, and I'll be willing to strike this vote. :* The individual articles are scheduled according to a country calendar or religious calendar that does not have its own subcategory yet (most of them Buddhist). The articles are not different from the subcategories in this respect. As the articles are already in the right country or religion category, they do not have to be in a calendar category as well. • oppose at least in part Looking at :Category:Observances set by the Hebrew calendar, there are holidays set by the Israeli government whose dates are determined according to the Hebrew calendar, but which are not holy days, as for example Jabotinsky Day. I'm afraid this is going to have to be addressed on a category-by-category basis. Mangoe (talk) 15:06, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
• Oppose in part -- Coptic and Ethiopian festivals should not be necessarily merged to Christian ones, since these independent churches are liable to have festivals that differ from those of the Catholic (and Protestant) and Orthodox traditions. Peterkingiron (talk) 16:50, 30 September 2018 (UTC)

In addition the format of the category name has been changed from "Fooian regional rail" to "Regional rail in Foo", which is the more usual format except in case of nationality of people.
