:* Propose renaming :Category:Teens' magazines to :Category:Teen magazines
:* Propose renaming :Category:Teens' magazines published in Japan to :Category:Teen magazines published in Japan
:* Propose renaming :Category:Teens' magazine stubs to :Category:Teen magazine stubs
:Nominator's rationale: The main article is Teen magazine. To pluralize that would be "Teen magazines" as is used in the article List of teen magazines. Adding an "s" and a possessive apostrophe to "Teen" is unnecessary. For comparison, we have {{Cat|Teen sitcoms}} and {{cat|Teen films}}, though the parent category for all of these is {{Cat|Teens' entertainment}}. Good Ol’factory (talk) 23:27, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- Rename per WP:C2D and also nominate {{Cat|Teens' entertainment}}. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:31, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- I will nominate {{Cat|Teens' entertainment}} if this rename goes through. Good Ol’factory (talk) 21:29, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
- Rename per all of the above. Her Pegship (?) 16:16, 29 October 2020 (UTC)

:The result of the discussion was: rename; I'll leave the manual purging to whomever wants to do it. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:30, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
:* Propose renaming :Category:Interracial romance in fiction to :Category:Fiction about interracial romance
:Nominator's rationale: A lot of the shows in this cat, like The Flash (2014 TV series), Supergirl (TV series) and Batwoman (TV series) rarely, if ever, even acknowledge the fact that the interracial romances are in fact interracial. and therefore, it's not defining for these categories. This cat should only contain fiction in which the fact that the romance is interracial is important to the plot, like Mixed-ish, Bob Hearts Abishola and Othello. JDDJS (talk to me • see what I've done) 22:24, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- Delete another "about" category. Also, race is in the eye of the beholder. Note the inclusion of I Love Lucy category here. Is it Wikipedia's policy that Latinos are of a different race than White people, despite the Census Bureau of the United States stating otherwise? Seems a little like Apartheid - but the way political winds are blowing we're being marginalized by other institutions, why not WP? smh Carlossuarez46 (talk) 05:12, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- Rename and purge per nom. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:34, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- Purge Yeah this is another example of where in film television where the category becomes too dense due to the entries having different amount of use in their plot. Yiu can have one film where it is only mentioned sparsley in the plot like The Jeffersons but then have a film where it is central conflict or a key characteristic to the primary and secondary characters like in the film Jungle Fever. There should be a general standard to what can be considered important to the plot to be included in said category. I'm neutral to the renaming though. ֆօʍɛɮօɖʏǟռʏɮօɖʏ05 (talk) 12:05, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- Rename per nom Clearer scope. Dimadick (talk) 16:20, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

:* Propose merging :Category:Union of Journalists of Moldova members to :Category:Moldovan journalists
:Nominator's rationale: I think they are all in the Moldovan journalists category. Being a member of the union is not really defining and most of the articles dont mention the union. Rathfelder (talk) 20:51, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- Support, plain membership of an organization is hardly ever defining. Marcocapelle (talk) 21:54, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

:* Propose merging :Category:Connecticut populated places on the Connecticut River to :Category:Populated places on the Connecticut River
:Nominator's rationale: In a surprise to no one, there are a few populated places on the Connecticut River.. in Connecticut. This seems like a classic WP:OVERLAPCAT to me. –MJL ‐Talk‐☖ 05:14, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
::Maybe not WP:OVERLAPCAT or WP:OCLOCATION, but it certainly is WP:OVERCAT. –MJL ‐Talk‐☖ 05:18, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- Procedural oppose, this should not be nominated without its sibling categories like :Category:Massachusetts populated places on the Connecticut River. Marcocapelle (talk) 19:18, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- :{{re|Marcocapelle}} most of the sibling cats are longstanding creations, I believe. Either way, I don't seek to challenge any other category execpt the one that I find the most redundant and effects the articles I personally work on in general. –MJL ‐Talk‐☖ 16:58, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
::* It is either redundant in all states or it is not redundant at all. Marcocapelle (talk) 18:06, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- Keep There are enought places in Connecticut that are not along its namesake River. For instance, New Haven is one of the major cities in the state. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 18:08, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- Keep -- This is a perfectly reasonable category. The fact that the sate takes its name from a river does not mean that all places are on the river. Peterkingiron (talk) 15:53, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

:The result of the discussion was: rename/merge as set out by {{u|Fayenatic london}}. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:36, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
:* Propose merging :Category:Mac OS software to :Category:MacOS software
:Nominator's rationale: Considerable overlap and nearly identical names. macOS is the current term for this particular operating system, so all content should be merged in that direction Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 02:08, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- Support per nom. JDDJS (talk to me • see what I've done) 22:33, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose, the two operating systems were very different, and :Category:Classic Mac OS software does not belong within the current :Category:macOS software. Note that there are various sub-categories called "Mac OS" which themselves contain "Classic Mac OS" and "macOS" sub-cats and should also have been included in the nomination. I agree that there is a problem with the category names being nearly identical, so I suggest renaming to :Category:Macintosh software, like the sub-cats :Category:Macintosh software stubs and :Category:Macintosh game covers. Other sub-cats with "Mac OS" in the name (but not "Classic Mac OS") should likewise be renamed from "Mac OS" to "Macintosh". "Mac" on its own should also be expanded to "Macintosh". However, the parent :Category:Mac OS should now be renamed to :Category:Macintosh operating systems, per its main article Macintosh operating systems. The full list for renaming is therefore:
- :Category:Mac OS software to :Category:Macintosh software
- :Category:Backup software for Mac OS to :Category:Macintosh backup software
- :Category:Mac software companies to :Category:Macintosh software companies
- :Category:Mac OS games to :Category:Macintosh games
- :Category:Mac OS-only games to :Category:Macintosh-only games
- :Category:Cancelled Mac OS games to :Category:Cancelled Macintosh games
- :Category:Mac OS graphics software to :Category:Macintosh graphics software
- :Category:Mac OS-only software to :Category:Macintosh-only software
- :Category:Mac OS multimedia software to :Category:Macintosh multimedia software
- :Category:Mac OS media players to :Category:Macintosh media players
- :Category:Mac OS web browsers to :Category:Macintosh web browsers
- :Category:Screenshots of Mac software to :Category:Screenshots of Macintosh software
- :Category:Screenshots of Mac games to :Category:Screenshots of Macintosh games
- :Category:Mac OS to :Category:Macintosh operating systems
- :Category:Mac OS development to :Category:Macintosh operating systems development
- :Category:Mac OS APIs to :Category:Macintosh operating systems APIs
- :Category:Icons of Mac OS to :Category:Icons of Macintosh operating systems
- :Category:Mac OS people to :Category:Macintosh operating systems people
- :Category:Mac OS user interface to :Category:Macintosh operating systems user interface
- :Category:Mac OS character encodings to :Category:Classic Mac OS character encodings
- :Category:Evertype Mac OS character encodings to :Category:Evertype Classic Mac OS character encodings
:I have not nominated :Category:Mac OS character encodings or its subcat, because their names match their contents. – Fayenatic London 11:01, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose, per what Fayenatic said. There have been two main lines of OS for Macintosh, the classic Mac OS line and the Mac OS X/OS X/macOS line, with the latter being a completely different OS that has, earlier in its history, offered various mechanisms for running software for the former (the Classic Environment, which ran classic Mac OS binaries inside a simulated classic Mac OS, and Carbon plus Preferred Executable Format (PEF) support in Launch Services (if Boring Old {{mono|exec()}} fails, Launch Services would run a "PEF runner" program and hand it the file), which allowed application developers to build binaries that would run natively on both the classic Mac OS and Mac OS X). If using "Mac OS" to refer collectively to both OSes is confusing people, then replacing it with "Macintosh" seems a reasonable fix.
:And the only native macOS character encodings are UTF-8 (at the UN*X layer) and UTF-16 (on disk in HFS+ and in some layers running atop the UN*X layer), so, yes, there's no need to rename :Category:Mac OS character encodings. Guy Harris (talk) 17:57, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
:*So should the encodings cats be renamed Classic Mac OS? – Fayenatic London 08:20, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
::*Yes, for the character encodings, "Mac OS" -> "Classic Mac OS" makes sense; they're only used in macOS for backwards compatibility (less important over time). Guy Harris (talk) 08:28, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
::**Thanks, I have added these to the nomination.– Fayenatic London 15:22, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose, completely agree with Fayenatic. OSes are completely different and the classic mac cats should be renamed to "Macintosh". Ryan Norton 20:10, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
- Er, no, the classic Mac OS cats do not need to be changed, but the parents over both Classic and current macOS should be renamed Macintosh. – Fayenatic London 08:20, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
