:Nominator's rationale: WP:ARBITRARYCAT, WP:SUBJECTIVECAT. We could include any and all wars, diplomatic incidents, technological races etc. in this category by claiming these are all manifestations of "geopolitical rivalry", two words that are extremely vague, subjective and open to libraries full of interpretations. Best get rid of it all.

:Alt proposal: manually upmerge few, Purge the rest: At most, I would suggest strictly, manually upmerging the few articles that contain the word 'rivalry' in the title to parent :Category:Rivalry. Those would be Austro-Prussian rivalry, Danish–Hanseatic rivalry, French–Habsburg rivalry, and possibly French–German enmity. And then we Purge all other articles and subcategories that are not about "rivalry" as such. NLeeuw (talk) 18:50, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
