While your provided reasoning for the username change is acceptable, at the same time we typically do not grant username changes to users who currently have active disputes relating to their user conduct. I strongly encourage you to respond to the users who have left you messages on your user talk page, and to get the situation resolved through discussion, rather than simply avoiding the problem and hoping everyone forgets about it. The latter tends to just kick the bucket down the road and won't solve anything. Unfortunately, from what I can see, granting this username change would help with the latter.
