Is this a kosher thing to do? Scribd does not own copyright of the journal and there seems to be no way of verifying that the uploader does either (unlikely anyway). The [http://www.scribd.com/copyright Scribd copyright management system] seems to consist solely of checking that they have not previously had a take-down notice for the item.
