The result of the discussion was: delete. It took me, someone who knows nothing about ice hockey, a little while to figure out what it was that the picture was supposed to be showing me. NFCC compliant images don't make the reader work to figure out why they are there. Pace Wafulz, a diagram or an animation could do a better job of explaining the sequence of events, and the text makes it clear that it is the sequence that mattered. • File was tagged with relative speedy deletion, with the rationale "The image shows an iconic moment but nothing in the articles suggest the image itself is iconic, nor is the image essential to critical commentary." I found this unconvincing, so I brought it here for discussion. I am neutral to this file's deletion. — ξ^xplicit 00:21, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

• Keep. It passes WP:NFCC#1 just fine - there is really no way a diagram could convey the situation as well. If you really wanted to you could argue that Tank Man could be replaced by a diagram too. • I have removed the image from Brett Hull and Dominik Hašek, because, even if this is kept, the rationale is invalid in those articles because it is not necessary to understand the respective subjects, which are the players. I am not convinced that the rationale is valid for 1999 Stanley Cup Finals because the image is not necessary to understand the schematics of the situation (the text describing the situation, actually, could use some clarity), and the image itself is not iconic.
