• As shown by Pablosecca in this file - :File:Lacan-by-pablo-secca.png, though perhaps not this one :File:Jacques Lacan ironie.jpg, A free image does exist and if the quality is insufficient then there are lots here who are good artists. Given the large number of images (see [http://nosubject.com/Jacques_Lacan:Pictures http://nosubject.com/Jacques_Lacan:Pictures]) of him....some work needs to be done to show the image is NOT replaceable. Google searching for provenance of these images is a poor substitute for off-line digging. The images were never created as digital works and what is online are unsourced representations of images that exist in other media. What I wish for here, and for other debates of the same character, is that the claim the image is not replaceable is backed up by more than the subjects death date. - Peripitus (Talk) 07:49, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

:As a matter of fact, I had checked his books in my university's library, but whenever they had a picture it didn't mention any copyright. I've also had the idea of checking Google Books. I googled every one of them, and managed to find the homepage of three photographers. Three of them I was not able to locate, and one - James Andanson - could be the photographer who died in Lady Diana's accident (Edit: I mixed things up. He died in another accident). I'll e-mail those three guys and see if I can get any copyrighted pictures. If that does not work, I have no idea how I would be able to get any free Lacan picture. Maybe he took more pictures of him, but I cannot verify that. Here is his e-mail:

No fee for Wikipedia but the photo must have my name with a copyright sign, and must be low resolution not to be downloaded.
