Going in

Welcome to your scratchpad for today's exercises!

We will use this reference page and the Wikipedia sandbox to practise writing Wiki markup.

To begin, click "Edit source" and copy and paste the contents of this entire page into your own sandbox. (Tip: press {{key top|Ctrl}} + {{key top|a}} to select all.)

  • To make a new sandbox page, simply "create a new file" by writing /something after /sandbox in the URL
  • For example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Utl_jung/sandbox/workinghour1 allows me to start that page

Then, publish the page. This will give you a copy of this page which you can now freely edit.

How to use

Under each section, you will see text to edit using Wiki markup. The instructions for what to do with each are given as "comments" to the right of each text.

These comments are hidden text often used to communicate helpful information (e.g. instructions, warnings) to other editors.

These comments look like this: .

Press {{Clickable button 2|Show preview|link=no}} to display the results without saving.

Press {{Clickable button 2|Publish changes|link=no}} to save changes.
