India Against Corruption has been completely blanked because of a "copyright" issue. In reality the only thing that is cited as copyright problematic is [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=India_Against_Corruption&oldid=620657512#Rise part of the first paragraph in this one section.]

Based on the history of disruption of the page (there is a claim by a specific segment of the IAC movement that "IAC" refers solely to them and has insisted that the article must only cover them as the sole focus of the article) and so the placement of the template blanking the the entire article based on issues with a tiny portion of the article seems like a continuation of their purely disruptive tactics.

As such, the disruption should not be allowed to so significantly affect the article, but I cannot understand the instructions Wikipedia:Copyright_problems#Rewriting_content on how to address the issue so that the vast majority of the article which is not problematic can remain available to the readers.

I wanted to remove the link from the English “Vaudeville” article to the French “Vaudeville” article, as their topic is not the same, despite the homonymy. Editing the links from the English article gave me the following warning: “The action you are about to take will remove a sitelink from this item. Sitelinks should only be removed if the page in question has been deleted, or if that link is being merged into another item. If you are trying to do neither of these, please do not submit this edit again.” Following that advice, I did not proceed with the edit.

However, I then tried the same on the French side, hoping the French-language warning would give me more information, but my edit was allowed without warning… The link from the French article to the English one has thus disappeared, which is what was intended, but, now, the English article doesn’t seem to have any cross-language links anymore, which was of course not intended—only the link to the French article should have been removed. I don’t know how to undo this, and I don’t understand what I did wrong. Can someone help fix this? And can someone tell me how I was supposed to handle this kind of case? It seems you edited the actual [https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q186286&diff=155644444&oldid=138122950 Wikidata item] which linked all the "Vaudeville" articles in different languages, rather than the French article itself. ::I took a quick look and it seems that the French "vaudeville" is different from the others so I have removed the French article from d:Q17855889 and added the English article to that entry so that now the English article shows the interlanguage links, but the French does not.--ukexpat (talk) 15:20, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

I can’t tell whether this is appropriate for languages that I can’t read at all, but, for instance, the German article should still be linked to from the French one, as it is about both the English meaning and the French meaning of vaudeville. Incidentally, through the German article, I discovered the existence of the English article “Comédie en vaudeville”, which corresponds to the French “Vaudeville” article. Thus the German article should link to both English articles, “Vaudeville” and “Comédie en vaudeville”. I fear this is not possible, am I wrong? Note that this is not the first time I encounter such a case, but I had no time to dig into it until now. Where can I find out more about that cross-language link system? ::::We cannot link the German article to both English articles. The German article should probably be split into two - one for each topic. I have been trying to sort out disambiguation for an Armenian painter who is known in Western Armenian transliteration as Hagop Hagopian. There exist Western and Eastern Armenian languages and they transliterate differently owing to different pronunciation of the same written letters.

In wiki, a search for Hagop Hagopian takes you to Hagop Hagopian the SALA fighter.

I eventually saw that Hagop Hagopian the painter has an entry already as Hakob Hakobian, which is the Eastern Armenian transliteration, so I tried to include that link in the heading of the article for Hagob Hagopian the SALA fighter.

It this point I discovered there is already a disambiguation page for Hakob Hakobian, which does not include Hagop Hagopian the fighter.

My questions

1) Should there simply be a disambiguation page for Hagop Hagopian, which can include all the Hagopians of note for Eastern Armenian speakers? I do not know how / am scared to set this up.

2) Should my edit on Hagop Hagopian's page be removed? or left until a disambiguation page for the Western Armenian transliterated names has been constructed.

:Whether or not Hagop Hagopian should be a disambiguation page depends on whether the guerilla fighter is considered the primary meaning. Can we say that one of these people is significantly more well known than the others? If so, they should have the main title with a hatnote pointing to a disambiguation page. If there is no one clearly more notable person (and I suspect this is the case), the disambiguation page should have the primary title. What is definitely wrong here, if what you say about transliteration is correct, is that Hakob Hakobian and Hagop Hagopian go to two different places. They should both go to the same article or the same disambiguation page, whichever is decided is more appropriate to have the main title. There should definitely not be two disambiguation pages for the same thing, one should redirect to the other. SpinningSpark 15:28, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

:As a general rule, deadlink references should not be removed unless they can be replaced with a source at least as good as the original. You can mark them with the template {{tl|deadlink}}. There are a number of ways to recover deadlinks and leaving them in place gives editors who know how to do this a clue what to look for. In any case, the dead page remains the source of the information and the reference should be left in place. SpinningSpark 15:36, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

Hello, was reading the pages on your site, about the American Civil War, found a huge discrepancy, as my linage, is directly tied to that war, my family fought, in that war, and the truth has been passed down from that war. Concerning the American Civil War, it is stated that the war was started over slavery, this is not true, the war, in fact, was started, over taxes, the slavery issue, was later added. In short, the civil war, started, when the North, decided to tax the South, 40 %, on all crops, , basically, TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION. I ask you add this FACT. No matter how hard, some try, to cover up true history, the truth is well know, among those of us who have direct ties, to that war. I have a strange problem where I can see images on Wikipedia, but not those from Commons. If I go to Commons I can see them okay. If I click on them I get "Warning: A file by that name has been deleted or moved." meaning that it has moved to Commons. How do I fix this? Hawkeye7 (talk) 20:54, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

After the glitch my browser cache was still linking to [:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Upload?wpDestFile=Hamming.jpg] instead of [:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Hamming.jpg]. Hi there: Does anyone have any idea why the photo of E.L. James is not showing up on her page? In the infobox, I'm just seeing "File:E. L. James (cropped).jpg" in red letters. However, the photo used to show up, and it looks like it is still on Wikimedia Commons and no changes have been made recently [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:E._L._James_%28cropped%29.jpg].
