:If this refers to :Ruby Ridge, you have tried to insert the page number within the ref name. This won't work. The reference is used multiple times within the article and the first instance is at the end of the 'Development' section, where the full ref is cited. You could copy the wording of the ref. to the later location, edit it to remove the extra wording and add the page No. |page=XX but I wonder if you are intending to fix all the other missing page Nos. from that report also? If so you may wish to look at :WP:REFB as well particularly the section on alternative systems. Eagleash (talk) 10:24, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

For a few years now, students in one of my courses have an assignment to create a Wiki page. The topic is supposed to be about something having to do with Middle East Media. The goal is to create original wiki entries. Previously, the students had no issues posting images with their entries. This semester though, many have come to me to complain that their images have been rejected. In one case, the student was creating a page for a film that was directed and produced by my colleague. They have 100% authorization to use the image for the film that they wish to include in the Wiki page. Yet, the photo was rejected - I am assuming by the Wiki administrator (or a bot?). The students score a higher grade for using photos, images, or illustrations. In another case, the student was creating a page about a TV series. Since the original photo was rejected, she created her own illustration. SHE CREATED IT. Yet, this item was rejected, due to copyright issues. So, I am making a general inquiry here as to why this has become a bigger problem as of late. I'm concerned that you are setting your students assignments to work in this site when you apparently have little understanding of how it works (the fact that you think it is called "Wiki", but more importantly, that you think that "the Wiki administrator" is a meaningful phrase, and that you apparently don't know how copyright works here). Have you read WP:Education program/Educators? You need to know enough about Wikipedia to make sure that the assignments you are setting are possible according to our rules and policies.

:On the specific issue, permission to use an image in Wikipedia is not, and never has been, sufficient: we require that an image have been explicitly released by the copyright holder under a suitable licence that allows reuse, such as CC-BY-SA. It is possible that we have become more careful about monitoring this. Please see Help:Copyright WP:Image use policy. The original link is about reusing material from Wikipedia, which is not the issue here

:If your student created the image, and asserted while uploading it that it was her original work, and that she granted a suitable licence, that should have been accepted, and if it was not, we should look into that. But if it had already been published anywhere (even if she was the creator), then unless it was explicitly released under a suitable licence, it could not be used here. :Without examples it's hard to tell what was the specific problems. You don't say whether the images were uploaded to Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons which has other policies. See Wikipedia:Copyrights and commons:Commons:Licensing for the offical policies. Many images are deleted for insufficient or inappropriate license information. Many uploaders think they have the proper permissions but actually don't, for example if they took their "own" photo of an already copyrighted image, or if they only have permission to use an image in Wikipedia. We allow our content to be reused so it must also be allowed to reuse the images elsewhere. Another problem is undocumented claims that the uploader has permission. There are unfornutately many uploaders who make false claims so images with dubious claims may be deleted. PrimeHunter (talk) 10:59, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

:Hello, you need to define the references E.g. {{ref content}}. You only need to do this at the first instance of using a particular ref. If you wish to use it again you can then just write . :I have corrected the error. When editing a Wikipedia article, we don't put references in the "References" section, we put them where they are cited. Then the software displays a little superscript number where we put them, and actually displays them in the references section.

:Two things still need to be fixed: the formatting of that reference is poor; and it's wrong to put a citation attached to a section header, it should follow the statement which it confirms. I will fix the formatting. But I can't move the citation to where it should be, because I don't have access to the source, and so can't tell where it ought to be cited. It was brought to my attention that on the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament page, under "Championships By School," Ashland should have years 2013 and 2017 listed. How do I get someone to edit protected pages? I made a couple of edit requests a couple of months ago on the Talk pages for certain Israeli prime ministers (to do with the inconsistent numbering of those prime ministers), but nobody has responded to my request.JayZed (talk) 15:06, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

:Judging from your contributions, I'm guessing you're talking about requests you made at Talk:Benjamin Netanyahu, Talk:David Ben-Gurion, and Talk:Yitzhak Rabin. If you place the template {{edit extended-protected}} (including the brackets) at the top of your post on each of these pages, the requests will automatically be added to :Category:Wikipedia extended-confirmed-protected edit requests and will be seen by more people. Otherwise, it really depends on someone happening to stumble upon your non-templated requests and deciding to read them and respond. Rivertorch^FIRE_WATER 15:27, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

Recently, I received a password reset notification. It was definitely not sent by me and I do not recognize the IP address. The IP address was 86.123.229.51.
