Request for cabal mediation

= Request Information=

: Request made by: Warrens 17:31, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

; Where is the issue taking place?

: Primarily the Talk:Trusted computing page, but also within the Trusted computing article itself

; Who's involved?

: Myself to some extent. Also, User:Boxflux, User:Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters, User:Fubar Obfusco

; What's going on?

: Declarations of bad-faith editing on all sides. User:Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters, for example, has accused me of having a bias because of the work I'm doing on other articles related to Microsoft. Reversion of attempts to reduce POV without discussion -- such changes are characterised as "white-washing" the "issue", "marketing propaganda", and so on. Also, a case of premature removal of POV tags when it's clear from the talk page that there is still a fair amount of it in the article. Finally, the article contains (by letter count) more on criticisms of the subject, than there is on the subject itself -- the balance here is an issue.

; ''What would you like to change about that?

: User:Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters basically needs to quit acting like he owns the article and is the sole arbiter of what should be included, and what constitutes NPOV. He also needs to make a stronger effort to play nice with others. It would be nice for this article to word towards what Trusted computing is, and not so much a clearinghouse for complaints against it, but that probably won't come about in a reasonably encyclopedic way until the name-calling and undue declarations of bias are canned.

; If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?

: No need to be discreet.

; Would you be willing to mediate yourself and accept an assignment as a mediator?

: Not at this time; my primary interest is working towards improving accuracy, informational value, and categorization of articles I have professional knowledge about.
