The Smithsonian Institution Archives, welcomes online participants to its edit-a-thon focused on discussing open access in cultural heritage organizations, and a new report from SIA's Effie Kapsalis, Head of Web, New Media, and Outreach. [http://siarchives.si.edu/sites/default/files/pdfs/2016_03_10_OpenCollections_Public.pdf Report link].

She will discuss how edit-a-thons have played a role in the mission for the Smithsonian Institution Archives, and the culture compatibility between Wikipedia and GLAM institutions. We will also discuss how the Smithsonian Institution's [http://www.si.edu/termsofuse/ Terms of Use] relate to public domain and other copyright policies.

We will work on articles from the recent Color History with the Smithsonian - list and image collections of the Smithsonian Institution Archives.
