This event is open to the public and we welcome people of all gender identities and expressions. No experience with editing Wikipedia is required but it is recommended that you bring a laptop. We will have a limited number of laptops available for those who don't have their own. We will start the edit-a-thon with a brief tutorial to cover the basics and experienced Wikipedians will be around to help out. We will be providing a list of Wikipedia articles to edit but participants are welcome to come with their own editing ideas. The event will be held from 11am to 3pm, stay as long as you'd like but you are not required to stay for the entire event to participate.
We also welcome any one who can speak a second language to translate existing articles on the topic.
Space is limited and refreshments will be served so please {{Clickable button 2|2=RSVP|color=blue|url=https://itnews.blog.fordham.edu/?tribe_events=wikipedia-edit-a-thon-celebrating-the-histories-and-communities-of-the-5-boroughs|}}
