The January 2024 New Page Patrol Article Backlog Drive was a one-month-long effort to reduce the backlog of the new pages patrol articles feed. The coordinators for this drive were Hey man im josh, DreamRimmer, and Illusion Flame. If you have any questions, please leave a message on this drive's talk page. The drive started on January 1, 2024, at 00:00 UTC, and concluded on February 1, 2024, at 00:00 UTC. The ultimate goal of this backlog elimination drive was to reduce the number of articles awaiting patrol, whilst maintaining quality reviews. Awards were given out to participants who did the most work in helping reduce the size of the backlog.

Points

Points: Points were calculated based on the 31-day total according to the leaderboard. It was updated by TolBot Task 8, which counted patrol, draftification, and deletion nomination, but could only detect deletion nominations when performed with the Page Curation tool. We also accepted CSD logs made by Twinkle, which were added to the leaderboard at the end of the drive, based on the principle of good faith. Participants had 7 days (until February 8, 2024, at 00:00 UTC) to submit these logs on the drive's talk page after the drive had ended.
Re-reviewing: As usual, rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria were essential to good reviewing. To ensure quality reviews, credit was also given to re-reviews. To find articles to re-review, participants visited the leaderboard section and checked any reviewer's log. They made sure that the article was not a redirect or already listed as a re-review to avoid duplication. Participants were allowed to submit re-reviews for 7 days following the completion of the drive. All re-reviews had to be submitted by February 8, 2024, at 00:00 UTC.
