• Claims to be an image of the State of California, but link of source does not show this. AG website claims copyright possibly due to copyright held by photographer but is unknown. Flickr upload by Brown Campaign claims full copyright [http://www.flickr.com/photos/jerrybrown2010/4844289913/in/set-72157617238426878]. Can this be confirmed as a work in the public domain or is this a copyright infringment? Nice image. If we can confirm it, I would like to upload the larger full uncropped version to wikipedia instead of commons.--Amadscientist (talk) 01:52, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

::Regarding the above speculation, contrary to what the user stated above, the link source is in fact the government of the State of California, specifically the website of the California Attorney General. :::There is no accusation against the California State Attorney General. Not all works are owned by the Attorny Generals office and site. The links on the upload don't show ownership by the state and the image used is a low resolution cropped version of the original. Clarification is sought in order to upload the full version. Can you copyright the full version and PD the cropped version? No. The full version on Flickr claims full copyright and the upload from the States Attorney General's Office offers no proof of PD other then being on the site. If that alone is enough then lets use the full, uncropped, high resolution image.--Amadscientist (talk) 22:33, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

Some are of posters, some are of public spaces, but freedom of panorama applies to none in the US (where Wikimedia servers are housed) or in the Northern Ireland (UK domain for these images AFAIK, UK has no FOP for 2D murals). • Perhaps an image of this iconic ad could be justified under fair use if we describe and link to commentary on the ad itself. • Delete Though well intended, this user has little understanding of copyright issues, believing for example that if he owns a DVD he can produce screenshots from it and claim copyright on them.
