- The summary states that this is a crop of File:Gold-rush.jpg, however the image has been deleted under F7, because it violated the non-free content criteria (this was in November 2010). So that would lead me to think that this image is also copyrighted (derivative work), and that the GFDL claim may be invalid as it appears the source image was non-free. :Well then I guess :File:Recumbent bars.JPG also violates the non-free content criteria. I probably assumed that an image I found on wikipedia was free, and didn't check more carefully than that. Go ahead and delete it. -AndrewDressel (talk) 20:32, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

- Source site is not a UK government source. Unclear sourcing means we can't track back to where this image actually comes from; it's possible that it's PD for some other reason, but it is not apparent that this is government-created. (ESkog)(Talk) 20:02, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
- The photo is from a still taken by the US Navy during the filming of demonstrations in the USA during 1944. The film was later used by both the SOE/Royal Marines and OSS, as part of their training film. I have the link to the film. The link to that film is found in http://www.mcdoa.org.uk/News_Archive_25.htm (look for the link that says "OSS Sleeping Beauty video.avi") This photo is legit, though I was mistaken earlier, it wasn't British government created, but US government instead, and still in free domain. I will change the license. Eddo36 (talk) 23:11, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
- That looks good to me. Thanks for the extra work; I know it's a hassle to navigate our policies at times. (ESkog)(Talk) 02:05, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

- Looks like an image that has been scanned in, the EXIF confirms this. Not 100% convinced that this was user-created, though I could be wrong. Orphaned. Acather96 (talk) 20:07, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
- The round corners and colours fading to red suggest this is a scan of a 1980s photograph. The photograph may have been taken by the user or a close relative. Stepho talk 22:59, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

- Although this may be the uploader's own screenshot of Eagle, according to the publisher's website's [http://www.cadsoftusa.com/copyright/ copyright page], "[t]he EAGLE Layout Editor is copyright protected software." Thus, this probably can't be considered a free file. Logan Talk Contributions 22:53, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
