• This picture is not copyrighted or from any TV show. Its just a cropped photo from a casual snap of Prithviraj Sukumaran along with the two of his fans. Here is the un-cropped source image -> [http://i.imgur.com/DOvPrqN.jpg]

• Before throwing in allegations of copyright violations, ESkog should back up his claims and produce proof that the picture is copyrighted before suggesting it for deletion. Please remove all allegations and tags from the picture immediately.

NOTE: this file (File:Lempi ikavalko PD-Finland50 1940.jpg) is actually PD as per {{PD-Finland50}}. Unfortunately prior to being uploaded to commons with the right tag, it had been uploaded twice to the wikipedia space w erroneous copyright info. It is also dated 1940 at the original file location, so it was in the public domain before 1996. Please remove from deletions list and sorry for the trouble. Taigariver

: I agree that it isn't copyrighted in Finland, but your task was to show that it isn't copyrighted in the United States. : Hi Stefan2, I guess we need delete the photo, then - dommage. A couple of comments (not arguing the contrary -- since I respect wikipedia standards - but rather explaining my pov) and a question: my understanding about its being copyrighted in the United States was based on the text of the PD-Finland notice, i.e., since it automatically entered the public domain in Finland in 1990 (50 yrs after its creation), I was led to think that acquiring public domain status via publication, as per Berne / 1989, was not required. Second note - I believe I have seen this particular photo in a newspaper article dating to the 1950s, 60s or 70s, in probably more than one instance, but I don't remember where or even which publications they might have been, but almost certainly in a non-digital archive so I can't relocate it easily. I will ask the Finnish Migration Institute, who have several linear yards of archive files on the author, if they happen to know (longshot). And a question for the future: I saw that there is a stub for an article (not created by me) on this same writer on the Finnish wikipedia. Will the U.S. ineligibility of this and similar photos also prevent their publication on the Finnish language server as well until such time as proof of their public domain status prior to 3/1989 is located? are the fi-servers located in the U.S.? - Taigariver (talk) 03:32, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
