- Whilst the uploader may have uploader the photo, there is no authorship information in respect of the original. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:41, 4 November 2013 (UTC)

:: So how do we solve this? The crate of oranges it was on is long gone. 76.117.247.55 (talk) 01:32, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
- Keep (or better fix the licence on Commons and delete as F8). There seem to be three authors here:
- # One person created the sign. The sign seems to be below the threshold of originality, so we don't need to know who this is.
- # One person damaged the sign. This, too, is below the threshold of originality, so we don't need to know who this is.
- # User:68.39.174.238 took a photo of the sign, licensed the photo as {{tl|PD-self}} and asked another user to upload it. The act of taking a photo of the sign is ineligible for copyright in some countries but not in all countries. However, as the uploader has licensed it under the {{tl|PD-self}} licence, people wishing to use the image in those countries where it is still copyrighted should be able to do so. Simply carry the licence statement over to Commons. --Stefan2 (talk) 13:58, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
- I agree with this approach. No 1148/2001 of the Commission of 12 June 2001 on checks for conformity with the marketing standards in the fruit and vegetables), the seller of those oranges was required by law to slap this label on his goods, with no creative discretion as to the text of the label. There is clearly no originality incumbent in so doing. bd2412 T 14:52, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

I believe this map to be OK because it is used for nonprofit, educational purposes. However, the map is based on the old Viking photos. Better maps are available at this point, but I do not know how to access them. It would be great if someone could take these old maps off the quadrangle maps and add new updated ones. Someone has done this on some of the quadrangles.71.196.236.141 (talk) 15:43, 4 November 2013 (UTC)

- Hi Stefan, I work at the company and this logo was redesigned in 2006 from the previous version. See http://i.imgur.com/mE6ohaf.png and http://i.imgur.com/jhm6JCo.png - I understand this may not be enough to keep the SVG on Wikipedia. If this is true could you perhaps give me an idea of what resolution we could upload. We sense a lot of people are taking the logo from Wikipedia for their own personal use and given the resolution of the original image, blown up it isn't the best. MattieTK 14:57, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
- Unless this is freely licensed, I think that the file should be deleted. The only use is in the article The Times, but the logo is repeated immediately below in the image of the front cover of the newspaper. See WP:NFCC#3a. --Stefan2 (talk) 16:29, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

- It doesn't say where the so-called "full image" comes from. For example, if it comes from a book or magazine, then it was enough that the book or magazine contained a copyright notice in the indicia or at certain other places.
