Doesn't make any sense, WP:AN is not the place to post a request for an edit. I presume this intended for requesting edits to protected pages, which is supposed to be done on the protected articles talk page. Bundling Wikipedia:Requested edits into this for the exact same reason. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:23, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
:So redirect it to a better location? Richard001 (talk) 23:33, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
- Comment. Explanations of edit requests and how and when to make them appear to be currently split between :Category:Wikipedia protected edit requests, Template:Edit protected and Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance (and possibly elsewhere too). It would be far better to have a centralised overview page at one of these titles (with the other redirecting to it) linking to more detailed instructions at the existing pages. I'll drop a note about this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Policy and Guidelines. Thryduulf (talk) 00:44, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
- There's also Template:Request edit (for COI edit requests). I agree with Thryduulf, let's have a centralised page (and move the detailed instructions out of Template:Edit protected - just point people to the new page, which should be Wikipedia:Edit requests as it's the more common and more general term). That page can then distinguish the uses of Template:Edit protected (where the page is protected) and Template:Request edit (for COI issues), as well as covering all the bits of advice on whether/how to do it. - Well, I've had a crack at it: Wikipedia:Edit requests. Any comments? Rd232 talk 03:55, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
- Maybe it should be a Help: page? (Or maybe not, I've never really understood how we choose whether something goes into helpspace or projectspace.) But it's a nice handy info sheet for newer users. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 00:59, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
- Generally looks good, I've made one suggestion on the talk page, which is where comments about improving it (or moving it to the help namespace) should happen. Thryduulf (talk) 16:32, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
