(eubot). Delete as WP:RFD#D5 nonsense: mix of something-halfway-between-German-and-English and English.
:roundabout explanation. It's marked as {{tlx|R from title without diacritics}}, because it was created from {{-r|Uetikon am See (Zürich)}}, yet the target has no diacritics. That's fixable, and we should mark as {{tlx|R from more specific geographic name}}. What is not fine is that the English for "Zürich" is not "Zuerich" but, er, {{-r|Zurich}}. I'd like to get some kind of general consensus of whether foreign-language transliterations are good disambiguation terms, when the words have been naturalised into English. I'm deliberately limiting that, since obviously some disambiguation terms need to be in the native language of the target, but this one falls in a valley between two Alps. There are many others of the same pattern. But, I'll say right now, with the Eubot redirects, I'd reckon about ten are OK for every one that is a bit iffy – perhaps even fifteen or twenty to one. Still, there are about 130,000 redirects, so that's a lot to get through. I'm trying (and over at WT:CSD to establish a conservative pattern for when we can suggest a criterion to delete the most obviously harmful ones speedily. Even if that is only one in twenty, it's a lot. It's a pity there's no obvious way to mark the "good" ones as "keep", yet. Si Trew (talk) 23:57, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

I have absolutely no idea whether these make any sense or not. Not at the target (" Gainlho Poirig Ranggyong Kü" is apparently the Tibetan pinyin), gsearch gives only 4 results, two from www.pronouncekiwi.com and two others from online "dictionaries". The second is a Eubot creation from the first. The target has sixteen other redirects, all of which are essentially transliterations, and I imagine some of which are unhelpful. - (Eubot). Delete, WP:RFD#D8 mix of foreign and English. I could be wrong but it seems a stretch to keep the disambiguation part of the title in Polish ("dzielnica Warszawy") but to drop its diacritical marks in the name of the place. There are others of a similar pattern. While, fortunately, "dzielnica Warszawy" doesn't have any diacritics, I'd apply the same reasoning to any Polish place that had had its diacritics removed but not the disambiguation part anglicised. Perhaps I am being overly picky. In this case it's a {{tlx|R from unnecessary disambiguation}} anyway, and I've tagged it thus. Si Trew (talk) 20:22, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Not sure. The target is a DAB, but this could equally well go to Manasseh (disambiguation). Probably the two DABs could be combined (they're the same word in different forms) but even so, neither gives the word in this form. Nevertheless definitely the word is transliterated in this form, but we have a bit of an WP:XY. And my gsearch gives very few results in English, and those largely word-lists, so it might be WP:RFD#D8 too: most results are in French, although some are in Vietnamese (with French interposed). No links outside this discussion; stats down right now. Si Trew (talk) 20:07, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- Comment: There seems to be a lot of duplication and confusion around these names. Manasses (given name), Manasses, and Manasseh seem to cover essentially the same material. Manasses is templated as a disambiguation page but should probably be a set index like the other two. I think before we discuss any redirects, the articles need to be straightened out. Eubot redirect. The target is (now) a DAB page listing several Mannasses but only one Manasse, Joseph S. Manasse, in its "See also". That being the case, I think that we should 'retarget it there.
Background: I can't see evidence of a relevant move, but this has come about as a back-formation from the redirect {{-r|Manassê}}. Although "Manassê" is a variant of "Mannases" or "Mannaseh", its use in English seems very rare. We also have Manasses (given name), and I am not sure what value the DAB at Manasses is giving us that the given name article isn't. It's all a bit messy. Si Trew (talk) 20:01, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Delete as misleading, WP:RFD#D2. This was a UK consituency during the time of the Dáil Éireann (Irish Republic) (1919–1922) but has never been a constituency of the current Dáil Éireann. The version with diacritics was an article until 12 October 2007, when User:BrownHairedGirl redirected it. I appreciate it is old but doesn't make it right, or a likely search term. The version without diacritics was created as a variant by Eubot.
{{-r|Dublin Harbour}} also redirects to the same target, so these are {{tlx|R from unnecessary disambiguation}}, also. Too late, but I should have just moved the target over {{-r|Dublin Harbour}}, but I've edited it by rcatting it. In any case, there may be a better target for {{-r|Dublin Harbour}}, although I can't find one offhand. Si Trew (talk) 19:35, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

- Keep. The only misleading thing here is the nomination, which misrepresents history.
This redirect reflects a clash of two constitutional theories and two phases of history, and Wikipedia should not suppress either viewpoint or either theory.
In the British view, this was a constituency of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. That view is uncontested until 1918. However, at the Irish general election, 1918, the voters of this constituency and 72 others chose instead to regard it as constituency of Dáil Éireann; they elected a candidate who was committed to ignoring the Westminster parliament, and to sit instead in the First Dáil.
As such, the constituency was used as a Dáil Éireann constituency, and the website of the Oireachtas lists Dublin Harbour as one of its constituencies: http://www.oireachtas.ie/members-hist/default.asp?housetype=0&HouseNum=1&ConstID=82&disp=mem.
The nominator's attempt to make a distinction between the first Dáil and the ongoing Dáil is not supported by the Oireachtas itself ... and even if that partisan proposition was accepted, it doesn't alter the fact that Philip Shanahan of Sinn Féin was elected by Dublin Harbour to represent them in Dáil Éireann.
I don't know whether this nomination is due to a misunderstanding by the nominator, or by some sort of POV-pushing ... but whatever the motivation, its effect is a proposal to rewrite history.
Note that similar redirects exist for many of the other Westminster constituencies which in 1918 were used by their voters as Dáil Éireann constituencies. No reason is offered for singling out this one. (For examples of the other redirects, see {{-r|Queen's County (Dáil Éireann constituency)}}, {{-r|Monaghan North (Dáil Éireann constituency)}}, {{-r|Kilkenny North (Dáil Éireann constituency)}}, {{-r|Roscommon North (Dáil Éireann constituency)}}, {{-r|Tipperary East (Dáil Éireann constituency)}}, {{-r|Fermanagh South (Dáil Éireann constituency)}}, {{-r|Londonderry City (Dáil Éireann constituency)}} and the many other Westminster constituencies in :Category:Dáil Éireann constituencies in the Republic of Ireland (historic).
Note that "(Dáil Éireann constituency)" is the standard disambiguator for articles on the constituencies of Dáil Éireann, and these redirects allow editors and readers to link consistently to the relevant articles. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 21:20, 3 December 2016 (UTC) - PS Back in late 2007, I merged[https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dublin_Harbour_(UK_Parliament_constituency)&diff=164034709&oldid=164030332] the content of this article to :Dublin Harbour (UK Parliament constituency) to avoid a POV fork. I forgot to tag the redirect with {{tl|R from merge}}, which I have now done[https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dublin_Harbour_(D%C3%A1il_%C3%89ireann_constituency)&diff=752872262&oldid=752863630]. However, regardless of the presence of that tag, per WP:RFD#KEEP#1, this page has a substantive edit history which should not be deleted.
I presume that the nominator overlooked WP:RFD#KEEP#1 ... but now that I have pointed it out, would @ Si Trew like to consider withdrawing the nomination? --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 21:57, 3 December 2016 (UTC) - User:BrownHairedGirl. ::::You can choose whatever criteria you want. So can I: that's how we get consensus. Boldly changing a redirect to a DAB page while a discussion about it is in progress perhaps is jumping the gun. I am not going to get involved in Irish politics, but I'll let the discussion proceed in the usual manner, and be closed in the usual manner. I don't need to be bludgeoned into withdrawing it. You forgot to sign. Si Trew (talk) 00:54, 4 December 2016 (UTC)
:::::@Si Trew Thanks for signing. I'm surprised that you don't want to address the WP:RFD#KEEP#1 issue. It looks fairly straightforward to me, and I don't see how asking you consider something which you appeared to have overlooked amounts to bludgeoning. As to not wanting to get involved in Irish politics, you chose to get involved when your nomination made assertions about Irish politics; I responded to that. Again, it's odd not to discuss issues raised when another assessment is offered; discussion is how we build consensus.
The {{-r|Dublin Harbour}} redirect was not the subject of this nomination, so no gun was jumped. It is mentioned in the nom as a related issue, and two posts above you welcomed the change. All very odd. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 01:22, 4 December 2016 (UTC)
:::::::The redirect of itself makes a statement about Irish politics, by redirecting a seemingly Irish redirect to a UK target. I refuse to be drawn into it. If it goes keep, so be it. I said of the change to a DAB "some good as come of it". You may have inferred of that, that no good would come of the rest, but you didn't infer that. Drop the stick and walk away. Si Trew (talk) 01:28, 4 December 2016 (UTC)
::::::::There is no stick to drop. Simply a discussion which you opened, and in which you have been politely asked to respond to some issues arising from your nomination.
Yes, of course the redirect makes a statement about politics: it notes the fact that the constituencies established for the Westminster Parliament were used by Irish Republicans for elections to an independent parliament called Dáil Éireann.
So what is your objection to this redirect? Do you dispute that this happened? Or do you think it was wrong for people to have done it?
And if you "refuse to be drawn into it", why make a nomination on that basis? Very odd indeed. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 01:50, 4 December 2016 (UTC)

- Keep. Philip Shanahan was elected to the Dublin Harbour constituency and sat in Dáil Éireann. It is quite possible someone someone knowing those facts might search for {{noredirect|Dublin Harbour (Dáil Éireann constituency)}}; in fact the [https://tools.wmflabs.org/pageviews/?project=en.wikipedia.org&platform=all-access&agent=user&start=2015-07-01&end=2016-12-03&pages=Dublin_Harbour_(D%C3%A1il_%C3%89ireann_constituency) pageviews tool] shows low but regular usage. On the other hand, somebody not searching for that would have no reason ever to see it. Therefore it is a useful redirect with no potential to mislead. This previously-deleted redirect is a nonsensical nickname usually used in jest to refer to the subject of the target article on pop culture forums. It has virtually no encyclopedic value and should likely be deleted again. Mmrsofgreen (talk) 07:32, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- Keep when used as an exact phrase this seems to relate to either Christina Aguilera or a non-notable escape room in Santa Ana and the latter only with context. Someone seeing this without context and not knowing who is being referred to would quite plausibly look it up on Wikipedia and so they should be taken to the Christina Aguilera article. What matters for a redirect like this is whether this is a useful search term, not whether there should be encyclopaedic coverage. Thryduulf (talk) 07:44, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

I suspect this is WP:FORRED, because nothing in the target article mentions anything about Korean practices or affinities. - Keep. I'm afraid Google Translate got this one wrong. The phrase 의식동원 is derived from Classical Chinese 醫食同源, literally "medicine [and] food [have] common source". As I wrote in the previous RfD, this redirect is correct and culturally relevant. Food therapy currently redirects to Chinese food therapy; at any rate the local variants of East Asian food therapy are a cultural continuum, not discrete concepts. - Thanks, {{u|Deryck Chan}}, for clearing up the translation. — Gorthian (talk) 23:13, 24 November 2016 (UTC)
- ...and I've just figured out how Google Translate got what it got. 의식 can mean "consciousness" (cognate zh. 意識) and 동원 can mean "to mobilise people" (cognate zh. 動員). (I've cross-checked with ko.wp.) It's amazing that CJKV share ~90% of their abstract vocabulary (derived from Classical Chinese) so once you know 2-3 varieties (Standard Chinese, Cantonese and Japanese for me) you can guess the rest. Not consistent with one another, not sure which is better. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 03:53, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- I think I prefer Centrism as one may be a moderate without being in the centre, e.g. a moderate socialist or moderate Unionist (in a Northern Irish context) would be described as being closer to the centre but not in the centre. Thryduulf (talk) 07:32, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- I also prefer Centrism, because both {{-r|political center}} and {{-r|political centre}} target that. Si Trew (talk) 12:08, 4 December 2016 (UTC)
- Retarget both to Centrism, the correct article. One may be a moderate centrist, of course. One may also be a moderate Communist, or a moderate neo-Nazi. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 19:43, 4 December 2016 (UTC)

This is displayed as a picture of a laptop on my screen, not sure if it is better to retarget there or just delete it for ambiguity per WP:RFDCO. By the way, my ID is Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0
(Firefox 45, Windows 8 x86_64) - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 01:04, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- Keep - the character is "U+1F4BB PERSONAL COMPUTER", so it should be an image of a personal computer. We wouldn't redirect this to Ŵ, thumbs up or optical disc if a font maker chose to put those glyphs in this sport. Thryduulf (talk) 07:38, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- Keep on both my PC and my handheld thingy the glyph looks like a desktop computer, not a laptop, but as Thryduulf says we have no control over glyphs. Si Trew (talk) 19:51, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- {{Ping|SimonTrew}} What OS/browser are you using, and coincidentally, I am on a laptop, not a desktop, so I'm beginning to wonder if this differs with the same OS/browser combination if editing on a desktop. Also, it is worth mentioning that the symbol is displayed as grey on Firefox and Chrome, regardless of whether it is linked, whereas on Internet Explorer, it is shown as black or blue when linked. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 21:02, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

::::I can confirm that it looks like a laptop with a trackpad on my IPad.--76.69.215.204 (talk) 21:36, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- Keep - the difference between a desktop computer and a laptop is getting pretty blurry these days, and both are personal computers. It's a laptop for me on my, erm, laptop, running Win10 w/Chrome, and a keyboard & monitor on my Android (also Chrome). [http://emojipedia.org/personal-computer/ Emojipedia] runs the gamut as usual, but none are different enough to propose a different target. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 22:48, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- Comment I remember in certain Linux desktop environments (KDE 4 if I recall correctly), the icon for the "My Computer" directory was a laptop if you were on a laptop and a monitor with a tower if you were on a desktop. On Mac OS, the icon was different for each different computer if you look closely at the icon on "About This Mac" or something like that. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 07:57, 4 December 2016 (UTC)
- Keep - Similar to Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2016 August 15#🔫, though that ended in no consensus, I believe we should redirect these based on the definition (i.e. Unicode name) of the symbol.— Godsy (TALKCONT) 19:45, 10 December 2016 (UTC)

InterC.E.P.T. is a DC Comics organization that Nightshade was a former member of. This redirect doesn't work because InterC.E.P.T. has more than one member, and Nightshade was only one of them. I suggest a redlink if someone wished to create an article on the organization. MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 00:01, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
