Retarget to Senate if not delete because the term doesn't seem to be specific to a single country. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 23:00, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- Retarget per nom; excessive US-bias -- 65.92.246.142 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 03:03, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
- Keep existing redirect. What other Senates have this particular role / terminology? If they do, is it covered on Wikipedia? (I suspect that some US State Legislatures might use it, too, but that usage is sufficiently more minor and clearly subordinate to the US Senate version that the existing redirect still provides the relevant one-sentence explanation.) If it's not covered elsewhere, existing redirect is fine as a genuinely US-specific term. SnowFire (talk) 09:38, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
- Retarget per nom – this term is not US-specific; some quick searching shows that it is also used for [https://www.morrisburgleader.ca/2021/06/22/cornwall-mayor-named-to-senate-of-canada/ Canada], [https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/senator-designate-patrick-dodson-well-nigh-time-kate-auty/ Australia], [https://www.alamy.com/12-december-2021-berlin-bettina-jarasch-bndnis-90die-grnen-berlin-m-senator-designate-for-transport-environment-and-climate-protection-in-berlin-ulrike-gote-bndnis-90die-grnen-berlin-senator-designate-for-health-and-daniel-wesener-bndnis-90die-grnen-berlin-senator-designate-for-finance-are-on-stage-at-the-party-conference-of-bndnis-90die-grnen-berlin-which-was-held-mostly-digitally-the-agenda-of-the-state-delegates-conference-included-voting-on-the-coalition-agreement-and-on-the-new-state-chairpersons-photo-monika-skolimowskadpa-zentralbilddpa-image453900241.html Germany], and [https://web.archive.org/web/20180612113516/https://barbadostoday.bb/2018/06/12/ggs-senator-designate-accused-of-unprofessional-conduct/ Barbados], at least. —Mx.
