Deletion - 'Brain and writing' is not a correct name for the subject area. Stockhausenfan (talk) 20:56, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

:For clarity, Brain and writing is the original title of the article, but I moved it to the (IMO) more appropriate Neuropsychology of writing, so this is only for the deletion of the redirect to the new page. Stockhausenfan (talk) 21:06, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

:This has been the page name for almost four months and is presumably still going to receive traffic while not being actively harmful in any way, so it should probably not be deleted. 1234qwer1234qwer4 21:37, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

  • Keep per above. Valid {{tl|R from move}}. No compelling reason for deletion. CycloneYoris talk! 23:46, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
  • Keep per 1234... and CycloneYoris. Thryduulf (talk) 10:38, 4 April 2025 (UTC)

:Keep - reasonable search term. It’s even mentioned a couple times in the article, e.g. {{tq| The brain and writing have a relatively mutualistic relationship, meaning while the brain does enhance writing skills, writing also benefits the brain and its functions}} and there’s even a section called “Historical and cultural context of brain and writing”. Multiple online sources seem to support the idea that these are the same, e.g. [https://writingthroughlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Brain-and-writing-Infographic.pdf] and [https://brainworldmagazine.com/finding-narrative-thread-brain-writing/]. Given all this, as well as “Brain and writing” being the former title, I would think that keeping it is appropriate. Plant🌱man (talk) 13:46, 4 April 2025 (UTC)

:The result of the discussion was retarget

to Yahoo Japan#Services. Consensus to retarget to a subsection where it is mentioned (non-admin closure) Kingsmasher678 (talk) 15:57, 10 April 2025 (UTC)

Yahoo!ニュース, while it may directly translate to Yahoo! News, is a completely separate and unaffiliated entity run by LY Corporation / Yahoo Japan Corporation as the news site connected to its web portal Yahoo Japan. It's not discussed in any of these articles, so the two options are a) add a mention and redirect to one of them b) WP:RETURNTORED as a notable news organization that we really should get an article on someday. (see :ja:Yahoo!ニュース for potential) GreenLipstickLesbian💌🦋 01:25, 20 March 2025 (UTC)

  • Seems like it should probably be targeted to Yahoo Japan, maybe to a section for it specifically? (To save reading time for people: Yahoo Japan is a very popular "Web property" in Japan, which began life as a joint venture involving the US-based Yahoo, but eventually got separated off and today has no connection besides the name/trademark.) --Slowking Man (talk) 00:43, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
  • :Redirect to a subsection would be a great solution for now - my Japanese vocabulary is v. basic and distinctly animal-focussed or I'd write one myself. GreenLipstickLesbian💌🦋 04:06, 21 March 2025 (UTC)

Retarget to Yahoo Japan#Services. There at least it is meantioned briefly. If a specific section were to written about it than that would be a better target. Esolo5002 (talk) 22:36, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

Not mentioned in any article on the English Wikipedia. 1234qwer1234qwer4 00:34, 23 March 2025 (UTC)

:Weak keep. Plausible search term, albeit exceedingly technical and rare. StainedGlassCavern (talk) 01:01, 23 March 2025 (UTC)

::The search term being plausible does not help the fact that such a search would send the reader to a page where they would not actually receive any explanation of the term searched. 1234qwer1234qwer4 02:35, 23 March 2025 (UTC)

  • Delete. A mention could conceivably be added to Prohormone (original target), but it wouldn't be much more than a definition. Or at least, that's the best I could do; it barely sees use (15 hits on google scholar). Synpath 23:44, 23 March 2025 (UTC)

:The result of the discussion was soft delete

. Based on minimal participation, this uncontroversial nomination is treated as an expired PROD (a.k.a. "soft deletion"). Editors can [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?action=edit&preload=Wikipedia%3AXFDcloser%2FSoft_deletion_refund_preload&preloadparams%5b%5d={{urlencode:Action Scene}}&preloadparams%5b%5d={{urlencode:Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2025 April 3#Redirects to Quibi, possibly series}}&editintro=Wikipedia%3AXFDcloser%2FSoft_deletion_refund_intro&preloadtitle={{urlencode:Action Scene}}§ion=new&title=Wikipedia%3ARequests_for_undeletion&create=Request request undeletion of these redirects]. plicit 05:23, 13 April 2025 (UTC)

After skimming through and correcting the list of redirect formerly targeting Quibi, these three redirects seem to have no adequate target between the current target, List of Quibi original programming, or otherwise. Besides a vote to weak retarget {{No redirect|Action Scene}} to Scene (performing arts) (weak due to the capital "S" in "Action Scene"), best option seems to be to delete all as unmentioned. No mention of "moccasins" anywhere in the target article, not even at the time the redirect was created. If there is no information about this "meme", then this redirect is unhelpful to readers. – MrPersonHumanGuy (talk) 11:43, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

:Delete per nom. This was requested at AFCR along with another similarly unhelpful redirect, which I have now nominated at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2025 April 4#A story built one word at a time. 1234qwer1234qwer4 12:51, 4 April 2025 (UTC)

:Delete in addition, there are at least three memes centered around moccasins, that I could find. None of them seem particularly notable. Plant🌱man (talk) 13:36, 4 April 2025 (UTC)

:Delete. Googling {{code|moccasins meme}} brings up several image macros featuring either the shoe, the snake, or the Monroe Moccasins. What it doesn't bring up is anything to do with the Uncyclopedia article. There {{em|is}} an Uncyclopedia article on moccasins, but as I can't find any evidence of anyone referring to it as a meme and at any rate we have no coverage of it at the target article this seems doubly unhelpful: nobody is looking for this by this title, and if they were to do so we're not giving them any useful information anyway. Not mentioned at target. Only other search result is a line in 10K resolution#History sourced to GitHub, which may or may not be WP:UNDUE in that article. 1234qwer1234qwer4 11:39, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

by nominator. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 23:52, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

I'd like to propose converting this page either to a disambiguation between the book and the article, or possibly a redirect to the Dark Enlightenment article which ought to be renamed The Network State. I propose the same on the redirect The Network State (with 'the' added). Iknowyoureadog (talk) 03:32, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

:If someone knows of a better way to do this (i.e. if there's a template for multiple moves that allows for including redirects) then please let me know. Absent that, I have proposed the following:

:1. Move the article currently titled Dark EnlightenmentThe Network State

:2. For the two redirects (Network state and The Network State) either convert both to a disambiguation page for the article mentioned above and Balaji's book The Network State (currently a section of the article about him). Iknowyoureadog (talk) 03:52, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

  • Comment. It's none of those things. Historian Raymond B. Craib at Cornell wrote a history of the entire idea. He calls it libertarian exit. That’s the parent article, which has yet to be created (unless it exists in another form). The idea of a "network state" is a variation on that theme, like Galt's Gulch. Viriditas (talk) 05:48, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
  • :Update. It's on pp. 218-119 of Craib's book Adventure Capitalism (2022). Viriditas (talk) 09:19, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

  • Comment: The Dark Enlightenment is not the network state, and the network state is not the Network State. You should revert all your edits so far as they don’t make a lick of sense. All three ideas are separate from each other, with the book the least notable. I’m curious why you are doing this. The network state as an idea precedes the author and the book and has roots in libertarianism philosophy and other authors and ideas. The Dark Enlightenment promotes the network state as one of many different solutions. Given their break things and move fast philosophy, they aren’t committed to any network state solution, as there are others that might work as well. The author of the book is connected to these other ideas, but is only one of many involved. Viriditas (talk) 05:23, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
