- :@Abo Yemen Okay, I know I just said I'd move this, but the Ngrams link doesn't look to me like clear evidence of a common name. Especially when I cut it down to the last hundred years, it seems pretty mixed [https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?content=Wadi+Daw%27an%2CWadi+Doan&year_start=1920&year_end=2022&corpus=en&smoothing=3&case_insensitive=false]. The sources are also mixed (the Jstor links use Do'an but the BBC uses Dawan). I suspect you can still make a case for a move, but this is complicated enough that I this should go to an RM. - :Contesting. First of all, the "undiscussed move" was in 2018, so well beyond the scope of WP:RMUM. Secondly, the move was made with the rationale that Khanum is an honorific which should not be included in the title which seems legitimate here. — Amakuru (talk) 07:29, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
- ::An undiscussed move is an undiscussed move, no matter when it was made. A user's personal opinion does not trump policies as WP:CONSISTENT has been violated. The page should be moved back to its original title and then you can have a discussion on whether you want to drop honorifics on this page and all the other pages that I mentioned, including not only female but male figures such as Shoghi Effendi, since Effendi is also an honorific. The double standard here is intolerable. Keivan.fTalk 11:55, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
- :::{{xt|"An undiscussed move is an undiscussed move, no matter when it was made"}} - that's not what the policy at WP:TITLECHANGES says. {{xt|"If an article title has been stable for a long time, and there is no good reason to change it, it should not be changed"}}. This is certainly controversial, and therefore should be discussed first. Consistency is one of the things to look for when determining an article title, but it certainly doesn't trump all other considerations. There seems to be a good case for removing the honorifics from the other titles you mention anyway. — Amakuru (talk) 16:18, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
- ::::And what is the definition of "long time"? One month, one year, ten years? You cannot seriously argue that a page that is rarely visited would get its status challenged immediately following someone's decision to move it. It's not like the pages on figures like Pope Francis or Elizabeth I whereby such a move would immediately get noticed due to huge page traffic. That being said, there's no policy that bans the use of honorifics in all page titles, examples being Genghis Khan, Ögedei Khan (Khan being a male equivalent of Khanum), etc. MOS:HONORIFIC is a part of the manual of style and a 'guideline'. It doesn't trump WP:CONSISTENT which is part of a 'policy'. Keivan.fTalk 20:27, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
- :::::{{Reply|Keivan.f}} See the footnote to explain some considerations that go into what is a stable move. 7 years, 32 edits, and 13,000 page views since the move is certainly stable. This would require a requested-move discussion, which you can begin by clicking the "discuss" link on your request. You can remove this request after opening a discussion (or if you do not want to continue). ~ Jenson (SilverLocust 💬) 09:19, 18 June 2025 (UTC)

- Can someone help here? A couple of days ago, I requested here that Arari River be moved to Arari River (Pará), because there is a river of the same name in Amazonas. Since then, some people and bots are moving the article around in some really weird ways. LeRoc (talk) 20:46, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- :{{Reply|LeRoc}} Some users objected to the move you requested (in the replies to your request and via a request to revert it), so I reverted it. The disambiguation page that you created is now at Draft:Arari River (disambiguation). If it were in mainspace, it would be eligible for speedy deletion under criterion WP:G14. We only disambiguate pages when there are other topics covered in a Wikipedia article, and there is no article covering Arari River (Amazonas). ~ Jenson ( SilverLocust 💬 ) 22:06, 15 June 2025 (UTC)

- :::Unless and until the Arari River (Amazonas) article is created, there is nothing to disambiguate. 162 etc. (talk) 19:26, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
- ::::@LeRoc, this would likely be a notable topic. Do you have any references specific to this River? We can start a stub at the least. Also, are you familiar with the very similarly named Arara River (Amazonas) at List of rivers of Brazil to make sure they are different? -2pou (talk) 17:25, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
- :::::There is plenty of information on the Arari River in Amazonas state on Google Scholar, but I can't find the coordinates of this river. Also, I am working on Marajó Island, not really on Amazonas. What happened is: I made a request here to move Arari River. The article was moved. Then a lot of stuff happened with articles being moved around by at least 2–3 people. This doesn't deserve a prize for beauty. If there were arguments against renaming the article, it shouldn't have been renamed. I feel that now it's up to me to clean up the mess that others have created, and that isn't entirely fair. LeRoc (talk) 05:19, 18 June 2025 (UTC)
- ::::::{{u|Anohthterwikipedian}}, would you mind helping {{u|LeRoc}} do the clean up? Going forward, please avoid requests that are opposed here. Technical requests is for uncontroversial requests, and ignoring arguments against moves causes problems like this. I usually don't go for the Dutch uncle approach, but this is not the first time you have ignored objections at RMT. (For my own personal reference: as of my writing this comment, only two people have moved the article on the river in Pará: Anohthterwikipedian in Special:Diff/1295153070 and {{u|SilverLocust}} in Special:Diff/1295772665. Draft:Arari River (disambiguation) has only been moved in Special:Diff/1295772585. The initial edit on the draft, Special:Diff/1295196044, is not a move, just the redirect left behind by 1295153070. Special:Diff/1295772927 is just a bot tagging the draft—not a move, either.) Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 07:07, 18 June 2025 (UTC)
- :::::::To be honest, I didn't understand all of that. I can try to write a short article Arari River (Amazonas) in the next few days (if I can find the coordinates). But I'd like to be sure that a difficult to understand series of reverts and moves doesn't happen again after I do that. LeRoc (talk) 11:03, 18 June 2025 (UTC)

- ::The info I found about the trademark —[https://www.trademarkelite.com/europe/trademark/trademark-detail/018536773/PRLJAVO-KAZALI-TE]—is of little help, as here the name is written in all caps. I believe the main reason the article was originally named (or renamed to) "Prljavo kazalište" is that the creator (or the person who renamed the article) followed traditional Croatian and Serbian orthography, which insist on capitalizing only the first letter in musical group name. However, as I said, this rule has been ignored by most of region's music press during last couple of decades. The band does not seem to have an official website which could possibly be used as a reference. Ostalocutanje (talk) 13:54, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
