- Supporting evidence: Prisongangleader was blocked earlier as a suspected sock puppet or otherwise disruptive single purpose account. Before being blocked, he made several edits to Wikipedia_talk:Article_Rescue_Squadron regarding a merger dispute. Some time after being blocked, an IP editor logged on and made two edits to Wikipedia_talk:Article_Rescue_Squadron, restoring previously archived material. The edit summary from the IP uses the word "bent" specifically to refer to the action of archiving. This same word was used in talk [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia_talk:Article_Rescue_Squadron&diff=prev&oldid=228044730 here]. The IP edit summary is [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia_talk:Article_Rescue_Squadron&diff=prev&oldid=228100524 here]. The odds of this being a different editor seem low to me.
While I don't approve of the ban on the user, I don't feel that it should be evaded in this fashion, thus, I am requesting a checkuser on Prisongangleader and a check IP on 87.114.2.150. Thank you. Protonk (talk) 03:13, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- Please note that the editor in question was blocked as likely sock of Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Fredrick day. --Happy editing! Sincerely, Le Grand Roi des CitrouillesTally-ho! 03:27, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- 87.112-87.115 is a common IP range for Fredrick day, but others have been used as well. See Wikipedia talk:Suspected sock puppets/Fredrick day for a list. I reviewed the contributions of Prisongangleader and I concur with the conclusion that behaviorally, this editor resembled Fredrick day and, as newly registered but showing familiarity with arcane process, suspicion that he is a block evader was quite reasonable. In fact, "Prison gang leader" was a blatant reference to an AN/I comment of mine, 15:48, 21 July 2008.[http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Incidents&diff=prev&oldid=227013254] Prisongangleader registered 10:54, 22 July 2008. I consider the identification conclusive. JzG was correct to block this account. Should this request be merged with Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Fredrick day? --Abd (talk) 14:35, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Since this was registered today, I thought I'd add User:Frederick day, above. I'm not really sure checkuser is needed for any of this, but I'll leave that to CU discretion.--Abd (talk) 19:50, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
:Supporting evidence:
:# In User:87.114.2.150 first edit to the same page where User:Prisongangleader was arguing, Wikipedia talk:Article Rescue Squadron, User:87.114.2.150 uses the exact same word "bent":
::"That's fairly bent" [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/87.114.2.150] just like User:Prisongangleader does,
::"Co-opping people into your project seems a little bent to me"
:# User:87.114.2.150 picked up with the same exact arguments as User:Prisongangleader.
:Keep in mind that User:87.114.2.150 two contributions:
:(00:50, 27 July 2008) (00:47, 27 July 2008)
:...were after User:Prisongangleader was indefinitely banned on (18:59, 26 July 2008),[http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&type=block&user=&page=User%3APrisongangleader%E2%80%8E+&year=&month=-1] so even if User:Prisongangleader is not User:Frederick day, User:87.114.2.150/User:Prisongangleader was still violating his indefinete block.

- Prisongangleader is certainly a {{confirmed}} sockpuppet of Fredrick Day. That exact IP has no registered editors on it, but I would tend to draw the same conclusion based on behavior and on what is publicly known about Fredrick Day's IPs. Thatcher 22:43, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
