Account was created one month after the block of the IP to continue inserting the same material into the Clare Danes article. Edit summaries contain [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Claire_Danes&diff=prev&oldid=926265133 IP] [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Claire_Danes&diff=prev&oldid=939279336 TW56] the same kind of WP:ASPERSIONS and WP:NPAs. TW56 claims to have been {{userlinks|Tolwol55}} which is an account that was never created. MarnetteD|Talk 16:28, 17 April 2020 (UTC)

:*{{u|Callanecc}} when I click on the contributions link (not the block log) for the IP I see the big red box stating "This IP address is currently blocked" I do note that {{u|ST47}} made the block to the {{userlinks|69.169.0.0/16}} range on November 15, 2019. Does any of this show for you when you look at it? MarnetteD|Talk 15:33, 18 April 2020 (UTC)

  • {{ping|MarnetteD}} Thanks, I was checking if this IP specifically had been blocked. In this case, there's no block evasion occurring as the block wasn't for cause. Blocks of open proxies are actually of the IP and not the person in contrast to most other blocks we place. Any issues with this account's editing need to dealt with through normal channels. Closing. :*{{u|Callanecc}} I'm sorry but I am missing something. When an account is created to make the same edits that an IP did (whatever the reason for the IP's block) what other channel then SPI is there? MarnetteD|Talk 01:03, 19 April 2020 (UTC)

::*{{ping|MarnetteD}} This block is designed to prevent people using that IP to edit anonymously rather than to prevent a specific person from editing. As the block is only to prevent that IP from being used it can't be evaded (in fact, we actually want people to evade it and use their own IP rather than a webhost). The alternative venue I was referring to would be regarding the account if the editing itself is problematic (eg AIV, ANEW or ANI) rather than pursuing the block evasion at SPI.
