All accounts and IPs solely edit articles related to Teachers College and makes the same claim that Teachers College is an official Columbia school.
When asked "Have you ever edited Wikipedia without logging in?, the IP user answered "Depends if I’m on my phone or computer"

The user uses multiple IPs to falsely give an impression that his opinion is supported by multiple users.

Using IPs when the user has an account already (CUfiveo) for socking--HamiltonProject (talk) 07:41, 10 June 2020 (UTC)

- {{ping|HamiltonProject}} IPv6 addresses within the same /64 range (in this case, all addresses starting with 2603:9000:6504:12bd) are generally the same user, and they have minimal-to-no control as to which IP within that range they can use. --Mdaniels5757 (talk) 17:08, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
::Thank you. To clarify, I am requesting an investigation for IP socking when someone already has a Wikipedia account (CUfiveo).--HamiltonProject (talk) 17:22, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
Several of these editors have made similar or identical edits to Columbia University. In particular, [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Columbia_University&diff=961754633&oldid=961554663 CUfiveo recently copied this material directly from the university's webpage], [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Columbia_University&diff=961755508&oldid=961755484 2603:9000:6504:12bd:e0ee:9b74:ded8:35a6 restored the edit after another editor reverted it], and [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Columbia_University&diff=961757339&oldid=961756512 2603:9000:6504:12bd:8533:ea1b:f5bf:2deb also restored it after another editor removed it again]; this happened several times with both of these IP addresses reverting other editors. There is a long history of new editors appearing to argue about and make similar edits in this and a few related articles, particularly Teachers College, Columbia University, so although this is specific instance is a clear DUCK case I strongly urge an actual investigation to potentially identify other sockpuppets. :{{ping|Mdaniels5757}} Is there any chance you can help expedite this request? The editor in question is continuing to violate copyright and edit war using multiple IP addresses. ElKevbo (talk) 19:50, 10 June 2020 (UTC)

- I see that Columbia University has already been semiprotected, so that should stop the immediate problem. I've also warned CUfiveo about editing while logged out. I'm not seeing socking per-se, so my recommendation is to pursue other administrative remedies should this problem return. Closing with no action taken beyond the warning. -- RoySmith (talk) 20:17, 11 June 2020 (UTC)

CUfiveo was indefinitely blocked in June for problematic editing at Columbia University. His or her edits often focused on the university's relationship with Teachers College, particularly the relationship of Teachers College alumni with Columbia University e.g., [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Columbia_University&diff=prev&oldid=962646003], [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Columbia_University&diff=prev&oldid=960371250], [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Teachers_College,_Columbia_University&diff=prev&oldid=970635471]. This unregistered editor has recently appeared and not only is he or she making the exact same kinds of edits (e.g., [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Teachers_College,_Columbia_University&diff=prev&oldid=970635471], [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Teachers_College,_Columbia_University&diff=prev&oldid=971748279]) at the same article but he or she has also [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Teachers_College,_Columbia_University&diff=prev&oldid=971747975 edited one of CUfiveo's Talk page contributions]. - {{Cudecline}} - CU does not publicly connect accounts to IP addresses. TonyBallioni (talk) 00:05, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
- Sure looks like it. Blocked the IP for a week, reblocked and tagged the master for socking. GeneralNotability (talk) 18:14, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
