;Evidence submitted by Matt (talk)

45ODY was blocked as a suspected sockpuppet. His unblock request was denied (note that he failed to respond to the allegations of sockpuppetry), and the Telephonedennis account was created two days later.

Both users created several stub articles about fictional places -- e.g., 45ODY created Hav, St Gregory (fictional island), Bretzelburg, Darklonia, Latvislavia, Gonobutz, Anatruria, Trans-Carpathia, Letzenstein, Herzoslovakia, and Karistan, while Telephonedennis created Petrovakia, Baltonia, Bandrika, Barscheit, Blitva, Borovia (The Big Knights), Brogavia, Carpathia (fictional country), Doppelkinn, East European Republic, Eisneria, Euroslavia, Evallonia, Fasilica, Frobnia, Hohenwald (fictional country), Ifuvania, Illyria (fictional country), Katzenstok, Republic of Kravta Nova, and Krayia.

Both users have been active at File talk:First_second_third_worlds_map.svg.

Apparently this ramped up his edit count enough to where he was able to obtain [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Requests_for_permissions/Rollback&diff=next&oldid=279110109 rollback permissions], despite only having an account for two days.

The Telephonedennis account came to my attention when he participated in the AfD debate I opened up for one of 45ODY's articles. Matt (talk) 15:45, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

NOTE: Since I opened this case, the user has changed his username from Telephonedennis to Vilbafo534.

Also, I copied the following comments from Either way's talk page concerning why he tagged 45ODY as a sockpuppet. This seems to hold true for the Telephonedennis/Vilbafo534 account as well:

{{cquote|The main thing is the addition of {{tl|talkpage}} to random talk pages, discussion on images of European nations, the use of the sandbox to create colorful signatures, and the fixing of a sock tag about Fila982398. all of these connect it to the recent incarnations of Fila982398.}}

;Evidence submitted by EdJohnston (talk)

See discussion at WP:AN#User: Ciaran UK, especially comments by User:Dylan620, who is familiar with the Fila3466757 case, and User:EdJohnston. I reproduce one of my comments here:

I've notified Ciaran UK of this discussion. His account was created 27 March, and he has been adopted by Dylan620. His edits look eccentric, because he is messing around with things that don't need any improvement, and they suggest a lot of wiki experience. Why would a person who knows all about wiki templates ask for adoption on [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Ciaran_UK&diff=prev&oldid=279969106 his first edit]? Mocking the system, perhaps.
See Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Fila3466757 (2nd) for more on the indef-blocked editor Fila3466757, who is the probable sockmaster. There was a previous sock, named in the sockpuppet category, called Ciaran1534. For that detail see {{cat|Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Fila3466757}}.

;Evidence submitted by Dylan (chat, work, ping, sign)

Maybe I'm being bitey, but then again I might just be quick to catch socks of Fila.

  • Fila3466757's socks request adoption by means of {{tl|adoptme}} within their first few edits. This was the same with the Bialystok account.
  • Fila3466757's socks also have a tendency to acquire colorful, attractive signatures within the first edits. This was also the same with the Bialystok account.
  • Lastly, template coding. Fila3466757's socks have a tendency to use templates most other newbie editors would not, and post on pages that most newbie editors would not find. This was the smae with the Bialystok account.

Hope this helps. Dylan (chat, work, ping, sign) 01:00, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

{{Clerk-Note}} Declining this request. Edits to sandbox and template usage are similar in some respects to the behavior of the most recently blocked account, and its suggestive that his first edit was to tag a Grawp sock blocked by J.delanoy (the last sock had interacted with him, and even given him a barnstar)... But the history is thin, the connection still tenuous, and this request seems to be premature. Leaving this open to invite other review. Avruch T 01:50, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

  • {{checkuser|1=Valerian456}}

;Evidence submitted by —Snigbrook

The first edits by User:Valerian456 are almost identical to {{User|Ciaran UK}}, blocked as a sockpuppet of Fila3466757: creation of user page with adoption template, creation of user talk with talk page template, and use of sandbox[http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Sandbox&oldid=279970330][http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Sandbox&oldid=283529337] to test user signature. Valerian456 has also continued to create short stubs for people listed in the on Duchy of Cleves page: Ciaran UK created Dietrich I, Count of Cleves and Arnold I, Count of Cleves, then Valerian456 continued from Dietrich II, Count of Cleves. —Snigbrook 19:13, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Reversion of vandalism, use of the sandbox to create a colorful signature, participation in WP:AFD, creation of stubs; also note that Fila's socks never technically vandalize, so [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:My_name_is_the_master_of_all_of_the_5%27s&diff=prev&oldid=290133430 this] is possibly telling.
