Wikipedia:WikiProject Elements/Isotopes

{{Wikipedia:WikiProject Elements/header}}

This task force of WikiProject Elements is focused on creating entries on all known isotopes. There are about 3100 known isotopes and 580 isomers, so this is quite an undertaking, similar in scope to the astronomical objects project.

(NB: This task force is pretty much inactive: discussions about the isotopes pages should be held at the main WT:ELEM page.)

Each member of this project should choose one or more tasks that they feel they can contribute best. Keep in mind how much time you are willing to devote to this project and plan accordingly.

  • Data acquisition: scour research material of isotope data and enters it into the tables. Checks for consistency with isotope data used at Wikipedia:WikiProject Elements.
  • Graphics and table editor: use the template to place a table in each entry. Creates the PNG graphics of each isotope chart at the top of the table.
  • Proofreader: make sure that things are spelled right, grammar is correct, tables appear as they should, and catches errors such as a helium-4 title on the lithium-7 table. Proofreaders who have the expertise may fix factual or data inaccuracies.

;Isotope tables

These tables are collections of links to all likely articles about isotopes and metastable isotopes. Perhaps this can be turned into articles eventually, but for now this is for internal use. "Likely" is defined as anything present in list of isotopes articles as of 29 March 2009. Contact Headbomb for questions about these lists, or for their maintenance. Using Anomie's link classifier when viewing these lists will clarify which are isotopes are redirect and which are full articles.
