In each of these sub-categories, all clubs from that country should be placed. The sub-categories may contain more categories on teams having their own categories.

This category should only contain sub-categories named in the standard Category:Countrian [football/soccer] competitions format (except for a few cases due to problems with that format). In each of these sub-categories, all club competitions in that country should be placed, if not placed in its own sub-category. There may also be a (defunct) sub-category for competitions not played any more. There are also a few special categories for international competitions, national cups and premier leagues.

Stadiums used for football should be placed either directly under this category or in any of the nation-specific sub-categories. These sub-categories should be named in the standard Category:[Football/soccer] venuesin Country format. Some special sub-categories exist for various types of competitions the venues have hosted or are able to host.

Category used for articles specific to women's football. Self explaining categories, no need for more sub-categories before there are more articles on the subject. This category needs more work. Should football and women's football categories overlap, should women's football clubs be listed under both the normal club category and the women's club category, or should there be separate categories for all cases?

This category should only contain sub-categories named in the standard Category:yyyy in football (soccer) format. In each of these sub-categories, all year-specific articles on competitions played during the course of the year should be placed. The sub-categories may contain more categories on year-specific events having its own category.

Nothing should be placed in any of these categories by hand. They are used only when adding a football stub template to an article.
