Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian history/Chach Nama task force/Articles in Need

{{Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian history/CNTF tabs|This=3}}

The following is an incomplete table of articles whose subjects are related to either the Chach Nama or the history of Sindh in the 7th century CE. Feel free to update any of the cells; however, it is preferable that the cells containing article titles be kept intact, so as to avoid confusion. The articles are not arranged in any order at the present, although some are grouped (e.g. Chach, Chandar, and Dahir).

Thanks for participating!

Chach NamaArab/Persian account of Chacha-ruled Sindh; most of the following articles are spun off from this chronicleVery short; not optimal length for such an articleVery poor sourcing, more third-party refs neededProbably the first thing that needs to be worked on
Chach of AlorBrahmin minister to the king of Sindh; married his widow and became king. Expanded the empire; his actions were stimuli for the other events depicted in the Chach NamaContent is stable and doesn't need a copyedit too badlySourcing reasonably good, but further secondary/tertiary sources would be greatAnother essential article for this topic
Chandar of SindhChach's brother and successor; fought a successful war against Siharus of KannaujContent is fineSources fineDoesn't need much work
Dahir (Raja)Successor to Chandar and grandson of Chach; killed as his kingdom fell during the Islamic invasionFootnotes are needed in the text; the article could flow better and read more smoothly.Some of the sources are quite goodNot bad, but sections like Dahir (Raja)#His status among Sindhis have to go.
Chacha DynastyChach, Chandar, and Dahir; their expansion of Alor-dominated Sindh is integral to the topic in question; creation is neededThe article does not exist; this problem ought to be remedied.Place potential sources herePlace additional thoughts here
Rai DynastyHindu rulers of Sindh supplanted by the Chacha dynasty; several members of the dynasty are moderately-important figures in the Chach NamaThe content does not read well. A copyedit is desperately needed, as is a major cleanup of the text and footnotesSourcing is not bad but could be expanded to cover further secondary sourcesImportant enough to merit some intensive work
Rai Sahasi IIPredecessor to Chach and a key supporting figure in the Chach NamaCurrently a stub; it is doubtful if a major expansion is possible.Sourcing is not bad.Perhaps an article listing all of the known Rai monarchs, plus a brief biography (in table format) would be possible.

Agham LohanaGovernor of Brahmanabad who opposed Chach; he was killed and his realm subjugated.Content is OK, but rather short.More sources would be decent, but finding them may be impossible.Place additional thoughts here.
Matta (chief)Ruler and later feudatory of Sehwan Sharif in Siwistan, subjugated by Chach; a later conspirator against ChandarContent OKMore sources would be decent, but things can stand as is if necessaryThese kinds of articles (Matta, Agham Lohana, Siharas below) are all OK, and, if better-sourced, would be decent models for similar figures out of the Chach Nama
Siharas of KannaujAmbitious ruler of Kannauj who unsuccessfully invaded Sindh, in an attempt to dethrone ChandarContent goodSources OK, but could be formatted betterPlace additional thoughts here
Lalitaditya MuktapidaKashmiri king of Karkota dynasty who invaded large parts of North India, including Punjab, between 720–730 CE. Chah Nama refers to parts of Punjab under his control as Kashmir.[http://persian.packhum.org/persian/main?url=pf%3Ffile%3D12701030%26ct%3D10] He prevented the Arab forces in Sindh from making further inroads into the subcontinent.Content OKSources OK, but could be formatted better. [http://books.google.co.in/books?id=g2m7_R5P2oAC&pg=PA243 Wink] is also a good source for this.Could use expansion, conflicts/interactions with Arabs needs to be mentioned.
Muhammad bin QasimThe general who conquered and administered Sindh for the Umayyad CaliphateThe article isn't in horrendous shape, but a few sections could be worked into paragraph form, and better wording and grammar can be used throughout. All in all, a slightly more encyclopedic tone may be necessary.Sources are OK; more would be nice, and much better formatting is needed. Overuse of an unpublished book by Alexander Berzin (scholar).The article seems to attract less than constructive editing, so maintenance may be needed.
Mountstuart ElphinstoneThe British historian and governor, whose research led him to the conclusion that the Chach Nama was a historical chronicleCould use a copyedit for more conciseness in some areas and better prose all-around.Any other sources including third-party coverage would be optimal if they can be foundThis article is essential to the topic due to the subject's modern research into the Chach Nama''
