Welcome to WikiProject Podcasting, a collaboration area and group of editors dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of podcasting. For more information on WikiProjects, please see Wikipedia:WikiProject and the Guide to WikiProjects.

Scope

Wikiproject Podcasting is a WikiProject dedicated to making Wikipedia's knowledge of notable podcast and podcast-related information as complete as possible. We're also here to keep Wikipedia's podcasting articles free of WP:NPOV and WP:NOR issues, and ensure that all podcasts meet WP:WEB notability requirements.

Manual of style

=Articles=

  • There are currently no guidelines for style of podcast articles.
  • There are currently no guidelines for style of podcaster articles.
  • There are currently no guidelines for style of podcasting network or collective articles.
  • There are currently no guidelines for style of podcasting platform or app articles.
  • There are currently no guidelines for style of podcasting technology articles.

=Notability=

Shows must meet WP:WEB criteria, which covers a broad range of content including webcomics, podcasts, blogs, Internet forums, online magazines and other media, web portals and web hosts. See WP:WEB for full details. Please note that primary sources alone are not sufficient to establish notability—reliable independent third parties must be cited.

A podcast show notability proposal was raised, but did not achieve consensus with the community. An archive is available here. A notability proposal was later raised at WT:NME and was added to the essay with the shortcut WP:NPODCAST. Keep in mind this is still an essay, not a guideline or policy like WP:WEB or WP:N.

=Categories=

Existing categories are as follows:

Shows may use both audio and video categories, provided separate audio and video episodes are available (e.g. a video show should not also use the audio category just because there is audio within the video episode).
