- A new department has been created, and amongst the many several marvellous WikiProject Saskatchewan members and Saskatchewan editors, it was hard to begin nominating folks who deserve the Spotlight as there are so many. For the initial nominations, Royalguard11 and Ultraflame have been mentioned along with their many and several contributions. Please pop into the Spotlight Department and read their brief introductory Wikipedia Saskatchewan bio. Congratulations are sent out to Royalguard11 and Ultraflame at this time.
- Please feel free to sign up as a Spotlight administrator and nominate more excellent and notable Saskatchewan editors on Wikipedia who deserve attention, and honour. For every wikipedia user who is mentioned in the spotlight department, they will receive a Wikipedia Saskatchewan Ribbon on their user pages for excellent service! Every newsletter will bring an update to the Spotlight Department, so please keep tuned for other excellent contributors.

=='''The Election'''==
- The Saskatchewan general election, 2007 is on now ( November 7, 2007 ), so as Wikipedians we need to be prudent in enforcing traditional guidelines (especially WP:NPOV, WP:RS and WP:V). It doesn't matter what side we're all on for the election, we need to all make sure that articles are accurate and especially neutral. Larger election usually have enough people looking after articles to make sure they're fair, but we're only a small group here. Especially the last week of the election there will probably be a jump in the edits based on political promises, adverts and other things. So let's make sure we don't have anything about who will probably be the next premier, cabinet, ect. Let's make sure that we've got accurate information (if you looked at Calvert lately...). So, let's make this a good first election for this wikiproject to handle. -Royalguard11(T•R!) 03:20, 16 October 2007 (UTC) quoted from wikiproject discussion page with date revision for is now on
=='''[[Portal:Saskatchewan]]'''==
- The portal is growing with new articles, images, DYK and news items to help introduce the WWW visitor to the Saskatchewan area of Wikipedia. Please add your impressive or notable items to the portal, and they will rotate through on the main page. Thank you!!
- Could a two or three sentence news article about the last election be added to the portal please?
- Likewise could a short news item about the Saskatchewan Roughriders entering the Western Finals, and that the Hilltops won the Canadian national championship also be added to the portal.
=='''January 2008'''==
- Time to peek into WikiProject Saskatchewan Newsletter: Volume 2, Issue 8 - January 2008. December is a busy and hectic time of year. Please help to develop this January newsletter. Wish Wikipedia Saskatchewan Project a new year resolution for changes and direction WP Sask should undergo in 2008.

=='''Assessment Department'''==
- Which option should Wikiproject Saskatchewan adopt for assessing articles?
- Currently Wikiproject Saskatchewan has been tagging talk pages with the Wikiproject Canada banner for assessment of articles.
- The Canadian provinces which have their own assessment departments as part of their wikiprojects are:
BC, Vancouver, AB, NB. Other Canadian projects: Canada Roads, CFL
- The Canadian provinces which do not assess their own articles at their wikiprojects are:
MB, PQ, ON, NS, NL. Cities: Toronto, Ottawa, Prescott-Russell
- The only Canadian province without a wikiproject set up is PEI. All the territories have no wikiproject NT, YT, NU.
- A request could be made at Canada Wikiproject to set up an additional parameter in their banner such as...how the Canadian military history task force uses WikiProject Military history banner and addes an additional syntax parameter.
Any article related to this task force should be marked by adding parameters to the project banners at the top of its talk page:
This will automatically place it into :Category:Canadian military history task force articles. |
