How to upload an image and place it in an article
Draft
=Ideas=
Uploading an image in four (not quite easy :/ ) steps:
- Choose an image
- *Image needs to be
"free""open" - **Meaning of "free" has to be clear about copyleft, hence note "open" instead
- **If it's yours, you can make it free, it's yours to do whatever you want with
- **If not, you need to be sure it's already free
- **Ignore the fair-use case? Complicated, but relevant to wikis where it's applicable.
- Go to upload page
- *Select file on your computer
- *Fill in applicable license. If yours and not sure, CC-BY-SA a safe bet, same as for your text contributions
- *Fill in template with information about it:
- **Information in template goes after each
|parameter= - **A basic description: who, what, where, when, perhaps how
- **Who made it (if you, write your name the way you want to be credited!)
- **What license
- **Any special notes
- Hit the upload submit button
- *Edit as necessary, whenever
- Include your image in an article using
File:Example.png - *Only go into easy "thumb" method, image syntax is confusing!
