Wikipedia:WikiProject Spoken Wikipedia/Template guidelines

Once you've uploaded the file, you'll need to add a couple of templates to the article in question so people can find and listen to your recording.

Step 1: Update the article

For a single file recording, add template {{tl|Spoken Wikipedia}} to the "External links" section:

{{tlx|Spoken Wikipedia|date{{=}}{{#time:Y-m-d}}|FileName.ogg}}

Remember to update the date when uploading a newer version. Do not include it as a listed item: the box will float on the right-hand side of the page.

= Several files =

If the reading is broken up into multiple parts, just add more unnamed (positional) parameters:

{{tlx|Spoken Wikipedia|date{{=}}{{#time:Y-m-d}}|FileName (part 1).ogg|FileName (part 2).ogg}}
{{tlx|Spoken Wikipedia|date{{=}}{{#time:Y-m-d}}|FileName (part 1).ogg|FileName (part 2).ogg|FileName (part 3).ogg}}
...

Step 2: Update the article's talk page

At the top of the article's talk page, add {{tl|WikiProject Spoken Wikipedia}}:

{{tlx|WikiProject Spoken Wikipedia|FileName.ogg}}

If the article was requested via the {{tl|Spoken article requested}} template, remember to remove it from the talk page as well.
