This assignment consists of several elements, each designed to compliment the in-class work we will be doing on epistemology (ways of knowing) and feminist perspectives on knowledge production. It involves several elements -- independent research on a particular woman and/or GSM (gender and/or sexual minority) of your choice; a class session with Rosalinda Linares at the Oberlin College Library intended to help students develop sound research strategies for finding, evaluating, and using biographical sources; a class session during which each student will be editing the Wikipedia article of the person they've chosen, based on their research; and a retrospective reflection essay.
