This is a summary of recent technology and site configuration changes that affect the English Wikipedia. Note that not all changes described here are necessarily live as of press time; the English Wikipedia is currently running version {{CURRENTVERSION}}, and changes to the software with a version number higher than that will not yet be active. Configuration changes and changes to interface messages, however, become active immediately.
= Fixed bugs =
- Special:Mypage and Special:Mytalk now work as expected in combination with inputboxes and the editintro= and preload= parameters. (r27310, bug 11848)
= New features =
- Special:Newpages can now be filtered by logged-in status of the creating user, bot status of the creating user, and whether the new page has been patrolled. (Only the bot/nonbot filter is currently relevant on the English Wikipedia.) (r27204, bug 1401)
= Other technology news =
- The Siberian Wikipedia (formerly at http://ru-sib.wikipedia.org/wiki/) was deleted entirely following this discussion on meta: (it had previously only been closed and locked, but due to the deletion its URL now cannot be loaded at all, even for reading). This is somewhat unusual; normally, when a project is closed, it is locked but allowed to continue in read-only mode. (bug 11680)
= Ongoing news =
- Internationalisation has been continuing as normal; help is always appreciated! See mw:Localisation statistics for how complete the translations of languages you know are, and post any updates to bugzilla or use Betawiki.
