Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Famous Kapus

Why was this article removed? This is not a geneology. This an article that lists all famous Kapus. Ofcourse it will keep on getting updated. There are alot of Kapus getting popular day by day. Also it is pretty obvious it refers to Kapu(Caste) in India if you read it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.24.144.204 (talkcontribs)

:The article was deleted because there was no context. There was nothing in the article that stated what a Kapu is (I had to research to figure out what it meant), and it was a list of people with no criteria for inclusion (see the Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not). "Famous" is also a POV term, and anyone who thinks someone is famous could potentially add them to the list without providing sources to back the claim up. There is no prejudice against re-creating the article as a more organized, NPOV list with details, organization, and context. --Coredesat talk! 08:54, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

This article was linked to Kapu Caste. It will be hard to cite evidence that that person is a Kapu. You tell by their surname, what they participate in, what they did publically, matrimonial matches, they are your relatives etc. If this is not an eligible article how come Famous Kammas is still there? What was done diferently on that? I like to fix it.

This aricle is a source of information for many Kapus in India. This article helps in knowing the people from this community successfull in different walks of life. As far as sources of these people I ike to tell you that we identify them as kapus by their surnames which are unique for any community especially in Andhra Pradesh. We have added provided sources to many of the famous peoples and are in the process of adding for others too.
