Explanation of decision
As this is a close call, I would like to note two key factors in deciding that consensus to make User:Kafziel an administrator had not been reached. Before closing the nomination, I paid close attention to the reasons given for both support and opposition. A number of valid reasons were given both in support and in opposition, with the majority of users supporting the nomination.
- The history of the nomination shows that for most of the voting period, support was slightly below or at 80%.
- A 24 hour extension did not bring the nomination closer to consensus, and in general took it further away.
