Sandbox

Last year I was working on this character article User:Tintor2/Laguna Loire but I had to merge it since these articles were part of a good topic. Is it possible to request a copyedit on the sandbox and then create it to nominate it to avoid giving copyeditors any hurry? Cheers. Tintor2 (talk) 11:25, 20 March 2025 (UTC)

Why archive “in progress” requests?

I would like to continue to receive notifications for the copyedit of Kızılırmak Delta. I hope the current copyeditor remains willing and able to continue when they are able to, but if they had to stop for some reason I presume they might ask for someone else here to take over. But as my request has been archived off wouldn’t that make it more fiddly for them? Chidgk1 (talk) 08:52, 2 April 2025 (UTC)

:As of yesterday, {{u|PrinceTortoise}} is continuing the copyedit; I'm surprised you don't have the article on your watchlist. I don't know why it was archived on March 16; ordinarily, tagging a request with {{tl|Done}} triggers the bot to archive it. All the best, Miniapolis 13:16, 2 April 2025 (UTC)

:{{Ping|Chidgk1}} I initially [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia%3AWikiProject_Guild_of_Copy_Editors%2FRequests&diff=1283349153&oldid=1283337064 marked the copy edit as done] on 31 March. [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:WikiProject_Guild_of_Copy_Editors/Requests&diff=next&oldid=1283350904 Twenty minutes later], I realized that there are still a few things that I want to improve. Don't worry about the early archiving; I'll continue to my copyedit and let you know on your talk page when I've finished working on the article. I need help to get rid of grammar lapses I need it to be copyedited due to close paraphrasing and disorganized structure. 🍕BP!🍕 (🔔) 11:10, 24 January 2025 (UTC)

:Hi {{ping|Boneless Pizza!}}, why is this article back here so soon? I see in our archive, Dhtwiki copy-edited this article (Chris Redfield) in December (last month). Are these Redfield articles on some kind of merry-go-round? Baffle☿gab 05:21, 25 January 2025 (UTC)

::I apologize with that. I made a couple of edits that's why I thought that it might need again. I think the article is fine now after going through the article again. I would like withdraw this request. 🍕BP!🍕 (🔔) 05:26, 25 January 2025 (UTC)

:::No problem; you can replace it with another article if you wish. Cheers, Baffle☿gab 05:55, 25 January 2025 (UTC)

[[User:Tintor2/Laguna Loire]]

Due to the project's need to have all Final Fantasy VIII characters GA for the GA topic I had to merge the new article Laguna Loire. As a result, I had to request to copyedit but in its draft. I hope you guys don't mind.Tintor2 (talk) 21:00, 16 April 2025 (UTC)

:We don't do drafts. It has to be in mainspace for us to accept it. Otherwise, we will decline. Mox Eden (talk) 11:53, 17 April 2025 (UTC)

::According to our instructions, draft requests {{em|may}} be declined; AFAIK, it's not a hard-and-fast rule. All the best, Miniapolis 17:31, 17 April 2025 (UTC)

(FAC) is likely to fail one of issues noted is that the article assumes you have background knowledge of the series. So I would hope that that is clarified Questions? four Olifanofmrtennant (she/her) 18:22, 27 January 2025 (UTC)

:Hi {{ping|OlifanofmrTennant}}, this article was copy-edited on 28 December 2024, just a month ago. Is there a reason it should come back here so soon? Article development is not copy-editing. Baffle☿gab 22:47, 27 January 2025 (UTC)

Requests still entering May

Just noticed my request for a copyedit is in the May 2025 section. Doesn't look like a June section has been made yet. GamerPro64 02:02, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

:Thank you. I have just created a separate section for June 2025. Dhtwiki (talk) 06:25, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

I need help with a single problematic sentence: "Marion earned her own living from the age of seventeen, and she never married" I've tried to come up with a better way of stating those two thoughts (they are usually presented jointly in the sources) but I come up empty. I'm planning on taking this article to FA someday, so if you see any other issues, that would be appreciated. I'm happy to implement any changes, if you simply want to make suggestions. Noleander (talk) 15:41, 25 April 2025 (UTC)

  • Hi {{u|Noleander}}, can you say a little more about what you think the issue with that sentence is? It's a little bit comma splice-y, but not so much so that it triggers my inner copyeditor, since the two thoughts are connected. So if you can be a little more specific about what part of it is rubbing you the wrong way, we may be able to offer more help then. Fluffernutter (talk) 12:49, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
  • :Thanks for the offer. Sorry, I for forgot to remove this... I no longer need assistance. Thanks again! {{resolved}} Noleander (talk) 13:04, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
