Wouldn't it be better to move this to Wikipedia:WikiProject Inca Empire? It is obviously an attempt at creating a WikiProject, just in the wrong namespace. Glades12 (talk) 05:03, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

Disabled: Template:WikiProject Inca Empire

{{atop|Brown haired girl actually did this for a reason, the project should have more participants before I start tagging articles, because that is not the point of a WikiProject. Closing as nothing more needs to be said. 🌺Kori🌺 - (@) 03:54, 18 April 2020 (UTC)}}

In this edit[https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template:WikiProject_Inca_Empire&diff=951259694&oldid=950347771], I have disabled Template:WikiProject Inca Empire to stop it populating lots of non-existent assessment categories, which were flooding Special:WantedCategories.

There is no point in crating a forest of assessment categories unless the project is going to survive, and so far it has no signed-up participants. It appears to be a unilateral creation by {{User|Koridas}}{{User|Su-ilisu,emebal-meluhha}}, without prior discussion at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals — or, as far as I can see, any discussion anywhere else.

Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide#What_is_a_WikiProject? says:

{{talkquote|A WikiProject is fundamentally a social construct: its success depends on its ability to function as a cohesive group of editors working towards a common goal}}.

So far this project doesn't have a single editor expressing interest, never mind a cohesive group. So it fails that core principle.

A vibrant, pro-active WikiProject can be great. But Wikipedia is littered with hundreds of and semi-active WikiProjects. It doesn't need yet another project-which-never-hot-started ... and so far, that's all this is.

The project page is only 13 days old, so and its creator may like a little more time to see if that cohesive group of editors can be assembled. But if that doesn't happen soon, I will nominate the project for deletion, at WP:MFD.

If my pessimism turns out to be misplaced, and this project does gain that "cohesive group of editors", then of course the Template:WikiProject Inca Empire can be reactivated. But starting by tagging articles is putting the cart before the horse. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 08:35, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

:{{u|BrownHairedGirl}}, Just to let you know, I didn't create the wikiproject. I just edited it alot. So don't say "unilateral' creation by Koridas. 🌺Kori🌺 - (@) 02:08, 17 April 2020 (UTC)

::Of course, Su-ilisu,emebal-meluhha is the one that created it. I've only tried to help it, but everyone thinks I created it. 🌺Kori🌺 - (@) 02:11, 17 April 2020 (UTC)

:::Sorry, {{U|Koridas}}. I missed that it was actually created by {{User|Su-ilisu,emebal-meluhha}}. Now corrected.

:::But my point still stands. A project needs participants, and this one doesn't have any. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 02:32, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
