Clean up requested for [[Time crystal]]

Could someone familiar with photonics + fundamental physics give time crystal a review? Does it appropriately cover the recent experiments, and is the extensive discussion of symmetry and symmetry-breaking appropriate? Thank you. – SJ + 04:39, 2 August 2017 (UTC)

Help with Bell test article

Bell test experiment needs help, in particular it lacks a lede that a lay person can decipher. I have written a proposed lede and new overview section [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:InformationvsInjustice/sandbox here] but could use some help. I am not entirely confident in my understanding of the topic. Thanks. Informata ob Iniquitatum (talk) 08:07, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

:Good start! I took a crack at revising it. XOR'easter (talk) 18:41, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

:Hmm, the article on Bell's theorem itself seems better than Bell test experiments, despite the unhappy hat-note at the top. XOR'easter (talk) 18:50, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

Should there be a hyphen in "[[Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy]]"?

Somebody recently moved the page from Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy to Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (with a hyphen between "Fourier" and "transform"). If you have an opinion about which punctuation is better, please comment at Talk:Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy#Propose to undo recent move. --Steve (talk) 01:42, 13 August 2017 (UTC)

Help with theoretical stuff

I'm working on a project involving theoretical elements, so I'm trying to make a reference page for it. Can someone here help me fill out the missing electrons per shell counts in this section? It starts with 122. I haven't done anything with chemistry for over 27 years. I appreciate any help. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 03:10, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

:To the best of my knowledge, there are still lots of unknowns about what might even be good guesses for electronic configurations of the really, really heavy elements. But I did find a table of hypotheticals here: {{Cite journal|last=Nefedov|first=V. I.|last2=Trzhaskovskaya|first2=M. B.|last3=Yarzhemskii|first3=V. G.|date=2006-06-01|title=Electronic configurations and the periodic table for superheavy elements|url=http://www.primefan.ru/stuff/chem/nefedov.pdf|journal=Doklady Physical Chemistry|language=en|volume=408|issue=2|pages=149–151|doi=10.1134/s0012501606060029|issn=0012-5016|via=}} XOR'easter (talk) 16:11, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

::{{re|XOR'easter}} Can you provide a quick primer on how to read that PDF? I don't understand the notation. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 23:30, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

:::Notation looks clear enough to me. Editors make the best edits in subjects that they have a good understanding of. Xxanthippe (talk) 23:45, 12 August 2017 (UTC).

:::As I understand it, it's fairly standard electron configuration notation, with the extra detail that in atoms with this many electrons, multiple configurations can have very close to the same energy, so the ground state is best taken to be a weighted combination of them. Files for upload

There is currently a request for upload at Wikipedia:Files for upload#Measurement symbol for quantum gates, which should probably be reviewed by someone from this project for accuracy and necessity prior to uploading and addition to the article. Thanks. TimothyJosephWood 12:30, 21 August 2017 (UTC)

:Yep, that looks like a standard [https://www.media.mit.edu/quanta/qasm2circ/ QASM] symbol for a measurement. It's accurate, important for understanding quantum circuit diagrams, and I can't imagine there being a copyright issue. XOR'easter (talk) 14:05, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
