www.voobly.com keeps spamming itself at the Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings page, and elsewhere. New accounts keep adding it in, every time I or someone else eliminates it. Microsoft used to call its site Internet Gaming Zone, so igzone might confuse some people, I thinking that done deliberately to confuse. The same company registered the domain name http://www.microsoftants.com/ to confuse people, that site having nothing to do with Microsoft, it just linking to their other site once again. :First, I have not been "spamming". Those links have been there for more than a year. Second, the link itself is not spam. It's a peer journal that I attained from my university search engine. The journal itself is an analysis of the show homosexual subtexts present in the show Smallville through five seasons. The journal was written by an assistant professor who specializes in sexuality on television (that's what his degree is in, and he's written other journals and books on the subject). The link is a legitimate one to include on those specific pages, because it directly pertains to those specific pages. I'm not including some link to the basic website in the hopes of promoting anything (which would be spam). I included a link to an online media journal (which appears in [http://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&q=Smallville+%22Jes+Battis%22 Google Scholar] and only university peer review journal searches) that has relevance.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 23:35, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

I came across a user (SimonThird) whose only contributions consisted of adding text referenced to two specific sites, "banking-business-review.com" and "cbronline.com". A check into these sites shows that they are almost identical in design, they are published by the same company, and they share the same IP address. one site (cbronline) is used in hundreds of articles, but I wonder if the sites are really suitable to be considered "reliable sources" or if they are in fact more domain-spammer sites. I came across User:Confusioner today due to an edit he made to EchoStar, which was on my watchlist. He was inserting links for the domain above, for each of the satellites launched or currently in use by EchoStar or Dish Network. I have no information regarding the reliability of the site in question, and I have not (yet) reverted the dozen or so articles he added the link to a few weeks ago. The chief issue that normally arises is that editors point to other "competing" external links (in this case, like lyngsat.com), and (reasonably?) argue something along the lines of other stuff exists. Should I go ahead and remove all of the sathint.com links? Which begs the question of what to do about lyngsat.com (which is a website I have actually used on my own countless times, full disclosure). user:J aka justen (talk) 22:42, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

:Yes, I recommend reverting all those link additions as blatant promotional spam. It's pretty clear in Intelsat that a link to TV/radio channels is totally non-encyclopedic (I reverted that). The 280 links to LyngSat also look dubious (particularly as links dumped in the article body, with no encyclopedic value that I noticed), but we deal with one problem at a time. Repeated spamming of link to download a game. The edit summary of the user sums it up: "I developed a free game that fallows the basic guide lines of what is listed on this site. People may download the program and use it with there friends."
